Title of Assignment: IP eLearning Project Consultant

Expected duration of assignment: June 17 to December 15 [Six Months]
1. Objective of the assignment
WIPO Academy IP eLearning Section offers eLearning and blended learning programs on Intellectual Property (IP), catering to different target audiences: ย Inventors and creators, business managers and IP professionals, policy makers and government officials of IP institutions, scientists, diplomats, students and teachers of IP and the civil society.
For the 2024-25 biennium, the IP eLearning Section has undertaken to deliver 25 projects for the development of new eLearning and blended learning courses and programs. The incumbent would primarily support the execution and implementation of these new projects as well as conduct substantive reviews of existing courses.
2. Deliverables
(a) Prepare project documentation monitor project deliverables, prepare status reports, presentations, and liaise with project stakeholders and IP experts to ensure timely delivery of project outputs;
(b) Conduct research on new developments in IP law and policy-related issues to assess IP training requirements for specific target groups such as, SMEs, scientists, judges, executives, entrepreneurs, women, youth etc;
(c) Participate in the review of substantive IP content and materials developed for new or revamped eLearning courses, learning tools, and resources;
(d) Liase with the IT team in gathering business requirements, designing, and testing new functionalities and eLearning tools;ย
(e) Prepare reports and presentations on activities of the IP eLearning Section;
(f) Prepare promotional materials for events, meetings and eLearning courses and training programs, learning tools, and resources; and
(g) Perform other related duties as requested.ย
3. Reportingย
The incumbent reports to the Head of the IP eLearning and Internal Training Program.
4. Profileย
Educationย
Advanced university degree in law, political science, education, or a related discipline.ย (Essential) An advanced degree with a specialization in Intellectual Property. (Desirable)Experienceย
At least two (2) years of relevant experience at national and/or international levels, in the field of intellectual property. (Essential) Experience in project management, capacity-building initiatives, and development programs within the UN system is highly desirable.ย (Desirable) Experience with eLearning design and development will be an asset.ย (Desirable)Language(s)
Excellent knowledge of English, written and spoken is required. ย Knowledge of Spanish and/or French will be an asset.ยCompetenciesย
Excellent research and drafting skills.ย Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a high-paced and multicultural team.ย High level of organization and multi-tasking skills with the ability to work within strict time limits and deadlines. Confident user of the Microsoft Office suite of applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint etc.). Ability to quickly adapt to new software, and online tools such as learning management systems, course-ware, multi-media tools would be an asset. ย
5. Duration of contract and payment
The contract will start on June 17 to December 15, 2024.ย
The applicant shall provide an indication of their remuneration expectations in Swiss Francs (daily rate). The contract may be renewed upon satisfactory performance and availability of funds.
