CSISโ Wadhwani Center for AI and Advanced Technologies is hiring a motivated intern with a demonstrated interest in the future of emerging technologies for the Fall Semester. Internships are seasonal and typically last four months. Theย Wadhwani Center produces research, analysis, and recommendations to equip policymakers, government officials, and the public with a better understanding of rapidly evolving emerging technology ecosystems and their impacts on the global economy, geopolitical dynamics, and international security. Internsย work closely with Wadhwani Center team members in research, event management, and program communications. Candidates should be motivated, professional, and have a strong interest in emerging technology issues, especially relating to AI.
The hired candidate will be paid hourly, commensurate with experience ($17.00/hour for current undergraduate hires, $18.00/hour for hires with a bachelorโs degree, and $19.00/hour for hires with a masterโs degree).ย
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential functions may include, but are not limited to the following:
โข Provide research support for individual scholars and projects related to AI, emerging technology regulation, industrial policy, national security, and geopolitics.
โข Monitor ongoing developments in emerging technology policy and industry.
โข Provide logistical support to the Center staff as needed, including scheduling, event staffing, and routine office work.
โข Support communications activities, including social media, program newsletter, and program podcast.
โข Attend events and lectures by CSIS and external organizations.
KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE:
โข Must be eligible to work in the United States.
โข Must be at least a college junior in good standing, an advanced student, or a recent graduate. Applicants enrolled in or have recently completed a masterโs degree preferred.
โข Must be able to work in-person at CSIS headquarters.
โข Ability to commit 35 hours per week preferred.
โข Excellent research skills.
โข Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
โข Ability to complete projects independently and with a team.
โข Ability to manage multiple projects & priorities simultaneously.
โข Proficiency in Chinese and/ or experience in computer science is a plus.
