Over the years, it has grown to be one of the largest organizations of its kind, with a staff of approximately 200 employees, including more than 120 analysts working to address the changing dynamics of international security across the globe. ย  The Trustee Chair in Chinese Business and Economics is dedicated to providing thought leadership for the policy community about the dynamics of Chinaโ€™s economy and its implications for industries and other countries. Our work โ€“ research, publications, events & outreach โ€“ focuses on the overall trajectory of Chinaโ€™s economy, U.S.-China relations, and the role China and Chinese firms in economies around the world.ย  ย  The Trustee Chair in Chinese Business and Economics is seeking two part-time paid research interns who can provide dedicated support for research and analysis, during the period from September 2024 to December 2024. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, professional, and has a strong interest in Chinese politics and economics. The research intern supports the program's research agenda, engagement events, and promotional activities. ย  The hired candidate will be paid hourly, commensurate with experience ($17.50/hour for current undergraduate hires, $18.50/hour for hires with a bachelorโ€™s degree, and $19.50/hour for hires with a masterโ€™s degree) ย  ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Essential functions may include, but are not limited to the following: ย  โ€ข Assisting in qualitative and quantitative research, analysis, and writing for publications. โ€ข Writing event summaries. โ€ข Providing logistical and administrative support for projects and events. โ€ข Performing a variety of other duties as assigned. ย  ย  KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE: ย  โ€ข Must be at least a current undergraduate senior. Current graduate students preferred. Must have at least a 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) from an accredited U.S. institution or equivalent from a non-U.S. institution. โ€ข Must be eligible to work in the United States. โ€ข Must be able to be on-site. โ€ข Must be able to commit to 20 hours a week. โ€ข Must have strong research, analysis, and writing skills. โ€ข Must have familiarity with Excel as well as data collection, cleaning, and visualization experience. โ€ข Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills. โ€ข Must have the ability to work well independently and as part of a team. โ€ข Must have the ability to manage competing priorities and multiple projects under tight deadlines. โ€ข Must demonstrate academic or professional background in Chinaโ€™s political economy, international trade and finance, macroeconomy or technology. โ€ข Chinese-language skills strongly preferred.ย  ย  PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK CONDITIONS: ย  The physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee working in an office environment.
