The Trustee Chair in Chinese Business and Economics is dedicated to providing thought leadership for the policy community about the dynamics of Chinaโ€™s economy and its implications for industries and other countries. Our work โ€“ research, publications, events & outreach โ€“ focuses on the overall trajectory of Chinaโ€™s economy, their high-tech innovation drive, and Americaโ€™s China policy.

The Trustee Chair in Chinese Business and Economics is seeking two full-time or part-time paid research intern who can provide dedicated support for research and analysis, during the period from August 29, 2022 until December 16, 2022. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, professional, and has a strong interest in Chinese politics and economics. The research intern supports the research agenda of the program, engagement events, and promotional activities. Specific tasks include:

โ€ข Assisting in quantitative research, analysis, and writing for articles, and event summaries.
โ€ข Assisting in curating Trustee Chair social media.
โ€ข Providing logistical and administrative support for ongoing programs and projects.
โ€ข Performing a variety of other Trustee Chair related duties as assigned.

This internship is paid hourly.

KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE:


โ€ข Must be at least a current undergraduate senior. Current graduates and recent graduates preferred. Applicants currently enrolled in or those that have recently completed a masterโ€™s degree are preferred. Must have at least a 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) from an accredited U.S. institution or equivalent from a non-U.S. institution.
โ€ข Must be eligible to work in the United States.
โ€ข Must be able to commit to 20 or 35 hours a week.
โ€ข Must have strong research, analysis, and writing skills.
โ€ข Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
โ€ข Must have the ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
โ€ข Must have the ability to manage competing priorities and multiple projects under tight deadlines.
โ€ข Must demonstrate academic or professional background in Chinese political economy, Chinaโ€™s macroeconomy or financial markets.
โ€ข Experience curating social media platforms preferred
โ€ข Experience in econometrics or statistics preferred
โ€ข Familiarity with data visualization preferred.
โ€ข Chinese-language skills strongly preferred.
