Work LocationBishkek Expected duration6 months Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe ideal candidate would be able to work independently to assist in monitoring human rights developments in the region and provide support to technical cooperation activities, specifically: — Follow-up on human rights issues and cases in line with provisions of the treaty body mechanisms and special procedures. — Assist in preparing a daily, weekly, monthly review to give an overview of the human rights situation in the assigned region for inclusion in the office's regular reporting. — Assist in overseeing maintenance and further development of the office's information and resource tools and, where necessary, directly update and produce information and resource tools. — Contribute to the preparation of internal and external reports, and/or communication items, on the work of the Regional Office for Central Asia. — Attend and take notes in meetings and conferences. — Assist in organizing workshops and activities related to the work of the office. — Familiarize herself/himself with human rights mechanisms, conventions and Human Rights Council procedures. Qualifications/special skillsa) Be enrolled in or have completed a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent or higher such as Master's degree or equivalent, Ph.D. or postgraduate degree); b) Be enrolled in or have completed the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent).
