ContextThe Rights of Older Persons Section at OHCHR is dedicated to advancing and protecting the human rights of older persons, ensuring their dignity, and addressing issues such as discrimination, neglect, and violence. As part of this mandate, there is a strong need to raise awareness about the unique challenges faced by older persons and to mobilize public support and advocacy through innovative communication strategies.
Task DescriptionThe Online Volunteers will assist the Rights of Older Persons Section at OHCHR by producing content and raising awareness on the rights of older persons. Key responsibilities will include: 1) Multimedia Content Production (2 assignments): the online volunteers will develop 8-10 engaging multimedia pieces of visual and audiovisual social media posts, to promote older persons' rights. For this task, proficiency in graphic design and understanding of the topic is required. Proficiency in producing short animation or video tailormade for social media is desired. 2) Newsletter (1 assignment): the online volunteer will develop a first draft of the newsletter by designing the layout and format, and gathering relevant material from various sources on the issues. For this task, proficiency in graphic design, layout composition and research is required. The online volunteers may be tasked to support the team in the planning and execution of social media campaigns focused on the rights of older persons and other awareness-raising and outreach support.
