ContextThe Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities is developing a General Comment - a legal guidance- on the rights of persons with disabilities to participate in political and public life. To this end, it has made a call for written submissions and plans to hold a day of general discussion on the topic on 20 March 2025.
Task DescriptionSupport the United Nations Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, through the following activities: 1) attend - online- the day of general discussion on the rights of persons with disabilities to participate in political and public life, on 20 March 2025; b) review written contributions to the day of general discussion available on the Committee's webpage; c) identify the legal issues, and areas of challenges for persons with disabilities to enjoy their right to participate in political and public life; d) prepare a report on the legal issue and challenges identified.
