Terms of ReferenceThe Communications & Interagency Intern will work closely with both units to support effective communication with target audiences. The incumbent will assist in creating newsletters tailored for diverse audiences, organizing, and supporting events, monitoring media channels, and managing social media. Furthermore, their contribution to internal communication narratives is essential. Additionally, the incumbent will coordinate and oversee inter-agency meetings, workshops, and reporting. Ensuring good relationships with UN, NGO, national, and international partners and Refugee-Led Organizations (RLOs) is also critical.

The incumbent will also be expected:
Maintain up to date mailing lists.
Support with internal communications including identifying & preparing stories
Support with graphic design and layout of documents and reports
Support with donor visibility requirements and tracking
Support on planning events and editing reports for the Regional REfugee Response Plans
Support in organizing and note taking for NGO and UN agency meetings, workshops, and compiling country updates on the UN collaborative frameworks.

Desirable qualifications and skills
Degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Information, or related field;
Proficiency in graphic design
Fluency in English with excellent written and oral communication skills.
Excellent communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills.
Excellent writing and editing skills
Demonstrated commitment or strong interest in internaitonal relations, refugee issues, and humanitarian response.
Familiarity with photography

It is a full-time role with working hours starting from 8.00am to 4:30pm Monday to Thursday and 8:00 am to 2:00 pm on Friday (37 hours per week). The successful candidate will be assigned to support the team in the External Engagement Section, at the Regional Bureau for EHAGL.

Internship will initially be granted for six months. Upon the agreement of the intern and the manager, an internship may be extended up to a maximum total cumulative duration of eight months.

Interns who do not receive financial support from an outside party will receive an allowance to partially help support costs related to food, local transportation and living expenses.
