The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) is a non-profit, bipartisan public policy organization established in 1962 to provide strategic insights and practical policy solutions to decision makers concerned with global security and prosperity.ย Over the years, it has grown to be one of the largest organizations of its kind, with a staff of some 200 employees, including more than 120 analysts working to address the changing dynamics of international security across the globe.
The CSIS Energy Security and Climate Change Program provides information and analysis to improve energy security, address global climate change, and alleviate energy poverty and environmental injustice. We consistently provide high quality public education, strategic insights, and policy solutions by examining issues at the intersection of geopolitics, policy, markets, and technology. Continuing its collaboration with leaders in government, industry, academia, and civil society, the CSIS Energy Security and Climate Change Program develops events and projects designed to help decisionmakers craft smart energy policies that balance economic, environmental, and security priorities. The hired candidate will be paid hourly, commensurate with experience ($17.00/hour for current undergraduate hires, $18.00/hour for hires with a bachelorโs degree, and $19.00/hour for hires with a masterโs degree).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential functions may include, but are not limited to the following:
โข Provide research support for individual scholars and projects related to energy security, markets, transition, and geopolitics
โข Monitor economic, energy, and climate related policies
โข Provide logistical support to the Program staff for administrative tasks as needed, including scheduling, event staffing, and routine office work
โข Attend events and lectures, by CSIS and external organizations, to write de-brief summaries

KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE:
โข Must be eligible to work in the United States
โข Must be at least a college junior in good standing, an advanced student, or a recent graduate
โข Ability to commit 35 hours a week preferred
โข Ability to work in-person at CSIS headquarters
โข Excellent research skills required
โข Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
โข Good judgment and ability to complete projects independently and with a team
โข Well-organized with the ability to manage multiple projects & priorities simultaneously
โข Strong computer skills
โข Experience with data collection and management preferred
