The starting salary for this position is ยฃ59,352 (including ยฃ3,000 London Weighting).ย

Backgroundย
The Institutional Partnership Adviser (IPA) will work at the NRC UK Representation Office which is part of the Partnerships and Policy Department (PnP). The role will be supervised by the Director of the UK Representation Office, with a technical reporting line to the Director of Institutional Partnerships in Oslo.
PnP is responsible for NRCโs strategic relations with institutional donors and is the โcentre of excellenceโ on donor/partner relations in NRC, thereby providing support to all Departments, and Regional, Country and Representative Offices in the organisation.
Role and responsibilitiesย
The Institutional Partnership Adviser is NRCโs lead expert adviser on UK institutional donors. As such, the IPA is responsible for relevant strategic relationships and for building internal capacity and maintaining a help desk on donor related issues.
The Institutional Partnership Adviser shall have specific responsibility for UK government donors. Currently, this is primarily the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, but will also include other ODA spending departments and devolved administrations/ Crown Dependencies.ย
The Institutional Partnership Adviser will also have the thematic responsibility as a global focal point for mapping and developing NRCโs approach to climate and environment targeted funding streams. However the scope and scale of this thematic responsibility depends on the direction and needs of the organisation which is not yet determined.

Responsibilities related to NRCโs strategic donors
Be the NRC focal point for expertise on UK institutional donors and their relations with NRC:ย
Be the lead for NRCโs strategic engagement with the donor, especially at Head Office (HO) levelMaintain NRCโs position as a professional and relevant partner, establish close relations and share information internally in NRC on their policies and priorities.Advise NRC colleagues on communication lines with the donor, annual funding cycles, and best practice when it comes to resource mobilisationย ย Maintain an overview of NRCโs past and present engagement with the donorย Assist with setting up, preparing as well as participate in donor meetingsย ยAssist with resource mobilisation:
Track and share information about new funding opportunitiesย ย Undertake โdonor mappingsโ upon request from NRC Country Offices and departmentsย ย Be responsible for prequalification processes in order to access donor fundingย Manage the processes related to prioritisation of internally competing proposalsย ยProvide help-desk support and capacity build staff on fund raising and donor rulesย
Stay updated on donor conditions, rules and regulations. Ensure that key information about these is regularly updated and available to NRC staff in order to facilitate complianceย ย Provide advice on donor expectations and requirements in proposal and reports, proactively and on requestย ย Provide advice on clauses in grant agreements, service contracts and consortia agreementsย ย Document learning and good practice related to the individual donorยNetwork and advocate for improved financing conditionsย ย
Network, share information and undertake joint lobbying (vis-ร -vis donors) with other NGOs that receive financial support from the same donorย Advocate for and negotiate improved conditions with the donor, whenever relevantย ยLiaise with other NRC units on donor related issuesย
