Information, Counselling, and legal assistance (ICLA) Technical Assistant will be part of ICLA core competency. The postholder will be responsible for providing generic legal services of legal awareness sessions and community outreaching.

Generic responsibilities

  1. Adhere to NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines.
  2. Assist a range of support with the implementation of the CC portfolio according to plan of action.
  3. Implements independently procedures and activities within own function or core competency as delegated.
  4. Responsible for organising and delivery of tasks in line with priorities and standards.
  5. Develop and maintain knowledge of the specialist area of work in which technical assistance and support is being provided, in order to be most effective in supporting the team.
  6. Use initiative in day-to-day problem solving in line with agreed procedures, priorities and standards for the area of work.
  7. Prepare and develop status reports as required by management.
  8. Ensure proper filing of documents.ย 
  9. Promote and share ideas for improvement in your area of expertise.

    Specific responsibilitiesย 

  10. Documented results related to the position responsibilities.
Strong communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.Ability to priorities responsibilities, carry out multiple tasks simultaneously, and meet deadlines.

Context/ Specific skills, knowledge and experience:ย 

University or diploma degree. Law degree preferred.Prior experience with humanitarian organization or similar organization an asset.Demonstrable experience in negotiating with government authorities and/or building owners, and in promoting the interests of vulnerable beneficiaries before such stakeholders.Proven skills and experience in case management and conflict resolution.Experience in local community mobilization and outreach.Computer skills, especially in Word, Excel and Outlook.Knowledge in written and spoken English, and Arabic/Kurdish.
