The purpose of the coordinator position is day-to-day implementation of the CC Project portfolio.ย 

The following is a brief description of the role.

Generic responsibilities:

Line management of CC project field staffAdherence to NRC policies, guidance and proceduresContribute to CC strategy Development, project proposals, and provide input on needs and gaps.ย Manage and implement delegated portfolio of CC (ICLA) projects (activities, budget and project documentation) as delegated from AM in line with proposals, strategies and donor requirements, and ensure high technical quality.Provide regular progress reports to AM and CC specialists.Promote and share ideas for improvement and necessary changes in the activitiesEnsure that projects target beneficiaries most in need of protection, explore and assess new and better ways to assist.Ensure capacity building of project staff and transfer key skills ย Liaise and collaborate with relevant local authorities and other key stakeholdersPromote the rights of IDPs/returnees in line with the advocacy strategy

Specific responsibilities:

Undertake regular visits to IDP camps, local authorities, and partners (as and when security allows) to identify needs and provide support through legal assistance, capacity building and advocacy.ย Identify knowledge gaps and needs of IDPs, partners and other key stakeholders relevant to ICLA thematic areas.ย Identify external resources as required in consultation with the Area Manager.ย In consultation with the ICLA Project team, develop and implement a training Schedule and organize all logistical needs and support.ย Conduct trainings and induction to new staff joining NRC and local partners on ICLA.ย Compile ICLA activity reportsย Develop best practice documentation on methodologies and techniquesย Facilitate training and awareness sessions on HLPย Budget and administrative responsibility for geographic and/or thematic areas as within the ICLA project identified by the AM.Implementation of the ICLA project in accordance with agreement applicable to the grant from the donor(s) and NRC principles and ways of work.Identify national staff to implement the projects objectives.Ensure that activities are in line with budget lines and limitations.Monitor, evaluate and suggest changes and improvements in the project and materials based on observations and discussions with the ICLA staff and the AM.Prepare monthly summary reports for Projects.Document technical issues and questions, and report to the AM.Communicate with and obtain necessary agreements and understanding from local authorities and partners in the areas of responsibility determined by the AM in line with the NRC protocol for communication.Communicate, exchange information, and co-operate with relevant external actors in the areas of responsibility determined by the AM.Communicate and coordinate work and tasks with the UN system in general and UNHCR in particular in the areas of responsibility determined by the AM.Contribute to the Development of NRCโ€™s Country strategy, action plan and activities plan and priorities in the ICLA sector as directed by the AM.ย Guide and delegate tasks to NRC personnel associated with the organizationโ€™s ICLA activities.ย Assess needs for capacity building among staff.

University degree inย law, social studies, Development studies / other relevant field/ the equivalentMinimum of 3 years work experience with NGO, legal or international organization in the area of protection or human rights.Experience from working as a project coordinator in a humanitarian/recovery context.Experience working with and implementing projects through local partners.ย Reporting and analytical skills.Experience in conducting assessments.ย Community mobilization skills.Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts.Documented results related to the positionโ€™s responsibilities.Knowledge about own skills/profile.Experience in capacity building and training of staff/community.Good communication and interpersonal skills.Possess cultural awareness and sensitivity.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Fluency in English and Somali, both written and verbal.Knowledge of the context in Somalia is an essentialAbility to plan and coordinateAbility to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
