Based in Seoul, Republic of Korea, The Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) is an intergovernmental organization founded to support and promote a model of economic growth, known as โ€œgreen growthโ€, which targets key aspects of economic performance such as poverty reduction, job creation, social inclusion, and environmental sustainability. GGGI works with its Members and partners around the world, building their capacity, working collaboratively on green growth policies, and mobilizing green investments. The organization partners with countries, multilateral institutions, government bodies, and private sector to help build economies that grow strongly and are more efficient and sustainable in the use of natural resources, less carbon intensive, and more resilient to climate change.

The Office of Director-General (ODG) division is comprised of Governance, Strategy, Partnerships and Communications and Korea Liaison Unit. As the front office of the Director-General, ODG supports GGGI to fulfill its strategic vision and support in developing and maintaining relationships with partners and mobilizing resources.

In the week of October 24th, 2022, where the 11th Assembly and 15th Council Joint Sessions will be held, GGGI is organizing the Global Green Growth Week 2022 (GGGWeek2022). The event consists of a series of virtual and in-person sessions on various green growth themes., also known as From 24-28 October 2021, GGGWeek2022will bring together policymakers, financiers, experts, academia, civil society organizations, private sector and partners interested to drive the change. These events are organized and coordinated by ODG.

Objectives of the assignment

The objective of the assignment is to provide administrative and coordination support for GGGWeek2022 events. The consultant will also provide support for post-event reporting and communication.

The duration of the assignment is 1 June โ€“ 30 November 2022. Under the overall guidance of the Director of ODG the Consultant will work closely with ODG Associate for the planning and delivery of outputs.

Deliverables and Payment schedule


Working closely with the relevant divisions at GGGI and external partners, the Consultant will provide administrative and coordination support for the upcoming GGGWeek2022 events. The duties of the Consultant include:

Prepare event materials and other administrative/communications outputs before, during and after GGGWeek2022, in close collaboration with relevant GGGI staff/external parties as per the agreed action plan; Contribute to the preparation of the provisional program; Communicate with participants, guests, speakers and other relevant personnel, ensuring all participants have up to date necessary information regarding the event details and their participation according to the provisional program; Execute the logistical and organizational plans of GGGWeek2022, in close coordination with the relevant GGGI staff/external parties; Effectively execute the tasks assigned during the main event sessions. Timely collect and upload the sessional documents in the designated folders and platforms and inform the participants, guests, speakers and other relevant GGGIโ€™s internal stakeholders. Support external communications including social media and the preparation of GGGWeek2022 record of proceeding.

No later than a week after the signing of the contract, a workplan will be prepared and agreed with the Consultant. The implementation of the workplan will be done through the weekly and monthly planning process.

Mode of payment:

Payment will be made upon satisfactory delivery of the set outputs which will be approved by the Director of ODG.

Other information:

All outputs must be in English. Additionally, the Consultant may be required to submit the outputs in other languages as appropriate. The computer applications that will be used include Microsoft Office applications, SharePoint, Outlook, WordPress, and other online tools as deemed necessary.
Expertise required

The Consultant is required to have:

A minimum of university degree in a relevant field Background in Communications and events write-up an advantage Previous experience in organizing events/meetings as per the objectives above Previous administrative/communications experience Good command of spoken and written English High proficiency in computer applications and IT skills Demonstrated ability to communicate with a wide variety of audiences Ability to work well under pressure/with tight (multiple) deadlines and work in a composed, competent and committed manner Highly organized and close attention to details Experience working within a sustainable development/environment is desirable
