INTRODUCTION: The Climate Resilient Water Governance Activity in Pakistan is an anticipated $10-25M USAID-funded four-year project that aims to promote more resilient water governance and management systems in Pakistan to combat extreme weather events (floods and drought), exacerbated by climate change. Specifically, the activity plans to focus on improving community-led, cost-effective, and sustainable water systems in areas faced with flash floods/hill torrents across the country. Work closely with the technical team to ensure gender and inclusion-responsive activities are integrated into project activities and reflected in annual workplans. With the Monitoring, Equity, and Learning (MEL) team, collect and analyze evidence and lead adaptation of project activities to respond to context, findings, and best practices in GESI for climate resilient water services. Collaborate with experts, project participants, community leaders, public and private sector actors, and other key stakeholders to design and carry out gender and inclusion-responsive activities (e.g., trainings, workshops) that address identified capacity needs. Facilitate a process of ongoing learning around gender equity and social inclusion with project staff, partners, and participants. Ensure inclusion of the youth, women, marginalized populations, and unrepresented groups in project activities to increase their understanding of climate resiliency and water resource management. Serve as a resource and mentor to project and partner staff on GESI (e.g., conduct training sessions and refresher workshops on GESI issues, principles, and opportunities). Organize meetings and workshops with entrepreneurs, community leaders, project partners and participants to share and disseminate GESI lessons learned, and best practices identified through project implementation. Serve as the projectโ€™s GESI subject matter expert in relevant national working groups and/or platforms. EDUCATION: Bachelorโ€™s degree in international development, education, gender and inclusion, sociology, or a related field. QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of six years progressive experience in gender and social inclusion programming, such as youth and female empowerment, inclusion of persons with disabilities and minority populations. Previous experience working on donor-funded projects required, and USAID projects strongly preferred. Strong demonstrated experience in GESI analysis and assessment, development of GESI learning tools (e.g., training manuals, job aids) and GESI training and facilitation in Pakistan. Experience in the design of GESI-responsive climate resilient water programming in Pakistan. Strong understanding of issues faced by women and marginalized populations related climate change, water security, environmental degradation, and natural disasters (e.g., floods, droughts, etc.).
