EU WASH Project Officer (Software)

Plan International Pacific is seeking to hire a full time WASH Project Officer (Software), who will work on the EU funded South Bougainville Wash Programme. The WASH Project Officer (Hardware) will coordinate the planning, implementation and monitoring of the WASH Hygiene and Sanitation interventions in the project sites. The focus of the WASH Project Officer (Software) role is working with, and strengthening the capacity, of key stakeholders to undertake effective planning, delivery and monitoring of the EU funded WASH project. Key stakeholders include: Community WASH Committees, School Leadership, Health Care Facility staff, Ward and District Development Committees, Southern Region Development Authority personnel, and staff from the Autonomous Region of Bougainville (ARoB) government (ABG) - Department of Health, Department of Education, Department of Community Government, and Department of Community Development. The role will also involve working with and supporting local partner organizations engaged by PIPNG for this project including, potentially, the Bougainville Womenโs Federation and Bougainville Disabled Peopleโs Organization. The role will be based in Arawa Bougainville, PNG.
The role reports to Plan International PIPNG WASH Project Coordinator.
Do you have what it takes to be successful in this role?
Relevant tertiary qualifications or 3-5 yearsโ experience in WASH projects Software approaches like CLTS, Health Island Concept (HIC), Project design, planning, implementation, budgeting, reporting, evaluation and monitoring Have experience in developing, implementing, monitoring Open Declaration Free (ODF) protocols Ability to conduct technical assessments and data analysis for WASH situations in schools, Health facilities and communities Have experience/awareness on water safety planning and monitoring water quality Experience in designing water and sanitation systems that are disaster resilient and are appropriate for the local environment Demonstrated skills and experience in coordinating, training, facilitating and capacity building of organizational staff, partners and community members and/or community- based organizations. Experience and/or awareness of the Project approaches, such as UNICEF 3-Star School standards, National WASH Policy and WASH in Schools policy and standards, National or Provincial Public Health Act and Environmental Acts Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to produce succinct written reports in English. Commitment to and/or experience in rights-based approaches, including child rights, gender and inclusion. Previous work experience in Bougainville or can relocate to AROB in Arawa
