More About the Role.ย ย
The Education Program Manager is responsible for the identification of the education needs at AO, development of proposals and implementation of short-term and transitional non-formal education like catch-up classes, bridging courses, and provision of Accelerated Education & formal Education for out-of-school children and their transition into the formal one. This will be in line with the NRC Global, AO and NRC Ethiopia education strategic priorities for formal and non-formal educationย

What you will doย ย ย
Line management for project staffย 2. Adherence to NRC policies, guidance, and proceduresย 3. Contribute to the development of Country, Area and Education Programme strategies, initiate and participate in the development of relevant Education Programme projectsย 4. Coordinate and manage education project implementation (activities, budget and project documentation) in line with proposals, strategies and donor requirementsย 5. Implement technical direction and ensure high technical quality of projectsย 6. Provide regular progress reports to the Area Program Manager and the Education Specialistย 7. Ensure that projects target beneficiaries most in need of protection, explore and asses new and better ways to assistย 8. Develop and manage project budget (in cooperation with Core Competencies (CC)s) and coordinate across CCsยย

ย What you will bringย ย ย
Minimum 3 years of experience from a senior level project implementation position in a humanitarian/recovery contextย Bachelorโs degree in education or a relevant fieldย Experience in education programming ย Experience with accelerated learning/catch-up programs, EiE, you education and others on Education sectors implementing at Refugee, IDPs, Returnees and Vulnerable host communities.ย Experience from working in complex and volatile contextsย

Duty station: Assosa, Ethiopia.ย ย
Contract: 1 month in 2024 and 6 months at 2025 with possible extensionย ย
Travel: 50 % (Field office and Area office implementation areas)ย
ย Salary/benefits: Grade 8ย on NRCโs Ethiopia national salary scale, with accompanying terms and conditions.ย ย
