Introduction
The mission of the Green Climate Fund is to assist developing countries to respond to climate change while bringing prosperity to their people.
Established in 2010, the GCF invests in transformational climate projects in the developing world. The Fund makes an ambitious contribution to global climate action and channels significant financial resources into developing countries to help build low-emission and climate-resilient societies. It is country-driven and undertakes actions that reflect the circumstances of each country concerned and its national aspirations. The GCF is a key enabler of the 2015 Paris Agreement on Climate Change.
Since its establishment, the GCF has approved 216 projects in 129 countries and has committed USD 12.0 billion in climate finance. In addition, it has built up an extensive program to support developing countries to identify their needs, in particular, those who are most vulnerable to climate change impacts.

Internship Assignment
The sectoral knowledge support Intern will provide input into sectoral information housed in the Division of Mitigation and Adaptation (DMA). S/he will have the opportunity to learn and expand her/his experiences by closely by working in teams with the sector specialists and knowledge/data functions.โ The intern may also assist the Project Preparation Facility team.โ
Under the overall guidance of the designated primary and alternate supervisors within the โDMAโ, the Intern is expected to:

Support compilation of institutional products, including knowledge and learning activities for the Project Preparatory Facility;

Assist in organizing training and capacity building sessions;

Support the practical application of the GCF sectoral guides in 2024;

Support the translation processes of each sectoral guide;

Support DMA with internal and inter-divisional coordination of sectoral guides information, documents, and events;

Support in managing the sectoral guide documentation and keep information up to date;

Support DMA sectoral analysis of portfolio data analysis as required by sector specialists; and
-
Other relevant tasks as determined by the supervisor.
Requirements and qualifications

Enrolled in Masterโs program in โbusiness, finance, environment, climate change, agriculture, ecosystems, sustainabilityโ or related fields;

Knowledge and experience with โinvestments, financial institutions and/or climate change issues.โ

Good understanding and experience in operations of an international organization is an added advantage;

Proficiency in using standard software programs: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access;

Excellent writing and presentation skills;

Fluency in English is essential; knowledge of another United Nations language, in particular French and Spanish, and/or Portuguese is an advantage.
