The Program / Department / Team
The Finance Systems Team is responsible for leading, coordinating and implementing t Mercy Corpsโ€™ global financial and reporting software.

General Position Summary
The Finance Systems Director is responsible for driving key projects and process improvement initiatives for Mercy Corpsโ€™ global financial systems and as the systems relate to Mercy Corpsโ€™ other core business systems. In coordination with the Information Technology (IT) and Finance departments, the Finance Systems Director is responsible for the smooth functioning of global financial systems and the country financial reporting model, including ongoing daily performance/reliability, system upgrades/conversions, interdepartmental support, or other system related issues.

Manage the prioritization process for system related projects and ongoing administration to ensure strategic business objectives are met and risk is managed. Research, recommend, develop and test system functionality as needed to meet business requirements. Analyze current tools, processes or data structures and make recommendations for improvement or simplification. Provide on-going support to finance teams in efficient transaction processing, report development, and data management. Manage the Finance Systems Support Strategy and monitor the overall usage of the Finance Systemsโ€™ Help Dess. Collaborate with system managers, users, vendors and IT to troubleshoot and resolve financial system issues, and document resolution steps. In coordination with IT, manage the installation of application patches, upgrades and enhancements for all assigned system environments, including testing, documentation and end user acceptance. In collaboration with Database Managers,IT and Data Engineers ensures user support coverage in accordance with the agreed Service Level Agreement (SLA) and perform or oversee system administration functions including user set-up, roles and permission management and other configurations. Direct Finance System-related projects to successful completion as defined by agreed project objectives including business requirements, timelines and budget. Work with internal and external stakeholders to develop project charters, implementation plans, budgets and resource plans to deliver system and process enhancements. Financial Reporting Systems: Work with peers to define the global financial data and reporting strategies and governance structures. Establish quality control practices in support of agreed data and reporting strategies and governance structures Work with IT to design and manage financial data warehouses. Direct the monthly country financial reporting process ensuring that reports are delivered according to the SLA. Oversee the financial report template development, testing, access and distribution processes, In coordination with IT, research, recommend, develop and test new data management and reporting methodologies, including business intelligence tools, as needed to meet business requirements. Other projects or duties as assigned. Mercy Corps Business Systems: Direct the representation of the Finance System Managers and user groups on the IT and Data Governance Teams. Provide guidance to management regarding long-term system objectives as they relate to organizational goals. Serve as a consultant, stakeholder representative and/or project team member on other project teams implementing related system projects. Ensure efficient integrations and common data management while working closely with project and development teams.Supervisory Responsibility

Works Directly With: Information Technology, Corporate Finance, International Finance, Mercy Corps Europeโ€™ Finance Department, Global Compliance and Support Unit, cross-operations departments including People and Strategy, Procurement, Monitoring and Evaluation, etc.

Accountability to Participants and Stakeholders

Minimum Qualification & Transferable Skills
BA/S or equivalent in business administration, accounting or related field is required. 7+ years of experience with U.S. not-for-profit GAAP and financial management and administration is required. 6+ years of experience in business systems analysis, process design and systems integrations. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of rules and regulations governing the compliance and regulatory management of grants from US Government and other agencies is preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of advanced not-for-proft GAAP, financial and statutory reporting, accounting systems and accounting software is required. Strong Microsoft Office products skills required. CPA and or public accounting experience and overseas financial experience are preferred. Experience with hiring, supervising, leading and the development of direct reports and team.Success Factors

Ability to establish and meet deadlines and work independently and cooperatively with team members. Proven ability to synthesize and analyze information and document and communicate results.
