The Private Sector Partnerships (PSP) services of UNHCR Sub-Office Hong Kong has been growing its fundraising capacity since 2007. In order to maintain the successful growth of PSP in Hong Kong and Macao, it is vital that the UNHCR brand continues to be developed so that existing and prospect audiences understand and view UNHCR positively with a view to providing financial and non-financial support. Furthermore, digital fundraising is now a core part of the PSP program with rapid development, contributing to the overall development of PSP Hong Kong under the Digital Transformation strategy. Building on the experience and an updated strategy, PSP has developed concrete plans to expand the scope of digital fundraising and try innovative approaches in the market.

To align with the global strategy of Digital Transformation and Supporter Experience, the digital team will need to support income growth from a variety of fundraising channels targeting different donor segments. Data for Digital Excellence will be a core pillar to understand digital and multi-channel behaviour while profiling, building, and targeting new audiences and measuring the success of and optimizing all fundraising and partnerships. Acquisition strategies will be supported by in-depth data analysis, which this position will require working closely with the business intelligence personnel with the use of customer relationship management (CRM) systems.

This post, therefore, will take up duties arising from acquisition, supporter engagement, and online community management. The incumbentโ€™s role, in relation to this requirement, is to manage and maximize digital fundraising and engagement strategies, making use of all possible opportunities that may arise through various promotional and program activities, and, whenever any digital initiative is planned, to integrate analysed data trends into digital in order to meet the organization objectives.

This position requires a candidate(s) with the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China permanent residence. It is the United Nations Office for Project Services, UNOPS, position with a contract, which is renewable each calendar year.

2. Purpose and Scope of Assignment

Under the overall supervision of the Assistant PSP IG Officer (Digital Acquisition and Fundraising Communications), the individual contractor will assist in the following:

โ€ข Under the supervision of the Assistant PSP IG Officer (Digital Acquisition and Fundraising Communications) to work closely with UNHCR and support the implementation of the Donor Care Program of UNHCR's Private Sector Partnerships Unit, in particular on donor service and donor information processing.
โ€ข Assist in designing, executing, and overseeing budgets and resources of a long-term competent and innovating strategy across the use of digital and new media tools, as well as an annual action plan for digital fundraising & engagement activities, ensuring that they are aligned with PSP strategy to meet the objectives of UNHCR.
โ€ข Work closely with supervisor and agencies to ensure UNHCR maximizes the use of acquisition tools, such as direct response television (DRTV), lead generation, crowdfunding, and peer-to-peer fundraising programs with hyper-personalized journey mapping and testing strategies for optimizing performance and analysing results by using Google Analytics 360, Power BI, Salesforces, and other CRM systems and that these tools are integrated where appropriate with the multi-channel promotional approach.
โ€ข Design digital content with both internal and external agencies to engage the audience creatively for enhancing the overall digital experience and optimizing long-term income strategy.
โ€ข Apply quality assurance for all digital acquisition outputs to ensure proper alignment with the global Digital Transformation and Supporter Experience directions.
โ€ข Build and manage the expectations and resources as well as the relationship with digital partnerships, including internal stakeholders, digital agencies, social influencers, etc., to ensure campaigns are executed and managed to target.
โ€ข Implement digital culture and provide knowledge where needed to others, such as the Donor Care and Private Partnerships & Philanthropy teams, and offer relevant digital toolkits or initiatives to their work in order to reach their objectives through digital channels.
โ€ข Collaborate closely with the fundraising communications team to synergize between various PSP programs for pursuing supporter engagement and online community management objectives, as well as building key performance indicators.
โ€ข Collaborate closely with the business intelligence team to hypothesize, validate, and evaluate digital acquisition insights in order to maximize programsโ€™ efficiency to reach the targets.
โ€ข Provide functional guidance to a small team to ensure all digital acquisition work is progressing to plan, as well as defining objectives and reviewing performance regularly.
โ€ข Take up necessary administrative work that complements the above duties; and
โ€ข Any other responsibilities as delegated by the supervisor(s).

4. Qualifications and Experience
(List the required education, work experience, expertise, and competencies of the individual contractor. The listed education and experience should correspond with the level at which the contract is offered.)

a. Education (Level and area of required and/or preferred education)
โ€ข Completion of Tertiary Education with certificate / training in marketing, new media, e-commerce, communications, or other related discipline.

b. Work Experience
(List number of years and area of required work experience. Clearly distinguish between required experience and experience which could be an asset.)

โ€ข Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience with a high school diploma, two (2) years with an Undergraduate/ bachelorโ€™s degree, or Graduate/Masterโ€™s degree as a digital/marketing/fundraising specialist.
โ€ข Minimum three (3) years in digital marketing or digital media agency field with proven track records in digital fundraising/sales/acquisition and engagement as well as managing budget/meeting income targets.
โ€ข Proven experience in organization website and donation page content management systems, as well as social media content creation and community management.
โ€ข Experience managing internal stakeholders, external vendors, clients, and partners.
โ€ข Experience in assisting the implementation of Digital Transformation strategy for organization is an asset; and
โ€ข Experience within the not-for-profit sector, UN agencies, or international institutions would be an asset.
