Activity Background

FHI 360 is currently recruiting for the position of Deputy Chief of Party - Technical for the anticipated USAID Mental Health Activity (MHA) in Ukraine. This five-year, $50-$100 million program, will be anchored in the development of a modern, evidence-informed, integrated mental health system that creates a framework for services offered across all levels of careโ€”from self-care to specialized services. This system will foster enhanced accountability, efficiency, and transparency to effectively address the evolving mental health challenges during the war and recovery.

This position is contingent on donor funding.

Job Summary

The Deputy Chief of Party - Technical (DCOP-Technical) is responsible for supporting the Chief of Party (COP) in developing and maintaining the overall technical vision, strategy, and direction of the project; supporting design, delivery, and progress against the approved work plan; and reporting against the performance monitoring plan.

The DCOP-Technical will provide technical support to staff and partners while ensuring efficient approaches for the program to meet its targets and deliverables on time and within budget. They will supervise and coordinate the technical/program implementation team, including international and local partners. The DCOP-Technical will be designated Acting COP in the COPโ€™s absence and will represent the program to USAID, donors, relevant government entities, partners, other implementers, and stakeholders when acting as the COP.

The position will be based in Kyiv, Ukraine. Ukrainian nationals are strongly encouraged to apply. Employment is contingent upon successful award of the project to FHI 360 and subsequent approval of the candidate by USAID.
