We're seeking a talented Data Vendor Manager to join our Commercial and Vendor Management Team within the Operations & Service Management department. Role Overview
As the Data Vendor Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the Bank's access to reliable and authoritative data and information resources. You'll work closely with various business units to source, procure, manage, and manages access to external data and information resources, particularly in Treasury, Banking, Risk Management. Your responsibilities will include reviewing and negotiating complex commercial, contractual and licensing terms, building strong relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and ensuring compliance with licensing restrictions.
Key Responsibilities
- Reviewing and negotiating complex commercial, contractual and licensing terms
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders
- Identifying cost-saving and optimization opportunities
- Communicating data/information usage rights and restrictions to internal stakeholders
- Problem-solving contract and service-related issues
- Preparation of the annual data budget and reporting
- Facilitating and managing (as appropriate) the onboarding of new data services or changes to existing services
- Maintaining the integrity of contracts and data services inventory
- Contributing to the development of the Commercial and Vendor Management function
- Maintaining constructive stakeholder relationships both internally and externally
- Keeping abreast of market data and information products industry developments and best practices
Qualifications and Experience
- Relevant degree/professional qualification or equivalent experience
- 3-5 years' experience in a similar role
- Deep understanding of data contracts, contract governance, and legal terminology
- Excellent understanding of the data market, vendor pricing models, and data consumption needs
- Strong analytical, communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a demanding environment
- Working knowledge of MDM, InfoMatch, FITs or Optimize Spend and Optimize Monitor highly desirable
- Previous experience with industry forums and vendor relationships is desirable
- Strong Excel and MS Office skills
