Consultancy For Individual to Conduct Literature Review on the Economic Analyses of Sustainable Management Approaches and Technologies in Agriculture

IFPRI is seeking an individual consultant to conduct a systematic literature review on the economic analysis of sustainable management approaches and technologies. This consultancy is open to individuals only.

Background:

IFPRI is undertaking a study to assess the economics of sustainable management approaches and technologies for improving the biodiversity performance of agriculture. This study is part of a larger project that aims to map the impacts of different types of agriculture on nature and to evaluate the practical solutions available to us to reduce negative impacts of agriculture on biodiversity and ecosystem services. The study will inform the development of recommendations on a suite of solutions for which there is adequate evidence of their effectiveness at resolving the problems of nature loss, and for which all potential externalities and trade-offs have been examined, including those associated with climate change and economic viability.

This consultancy will focus on the following component of the study: To conduct a systematic literature review on the economic analysis of sustainable management approaches and technologies.

The collaboratorโ€™s main activities include:

1. Conduct a systematic literature review on economic analyses of sustainable management approaches and technologies using a systematic literature review protocol that will be determined with the research team.

2. Write a report that includes a detailed documentation of the systematic literature review methodology (key words, databases searched, and flow chart of paper selection) and results and findings, including a summary (narrative and table) of what is in the literature and where there are gaps that need to be addressed.

3. Contribute to discussions about the results of the literature review with the research team.

Deliverables:

Report based on the literature review of the economic analysis of sustainable management approaches and technologies.

Excel database of reviewed work along with PDFs stored on a shared folder. The database should include bullet points of key takeaways for each paper.

Level of effort: 20-25 days from receipt of signed contract, depending on candidateโ€™s experience

Required qualifications and skills:

Bachelorโ€™s or Masterโ€™s in agricultural or environmental economics, natural resource management or a related field Demonstrated experience with conducting systematic literature reviews Excellent command of written and spoken English Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team

Desired skills:

Experience with systematic review tools such as Covidence is a plus
