Job Summary
The International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) seeks a qualified candidate to serve as an Accounts Payable Specialist to provide accounts payable support in its Finance and Administration Department. This position is a two-year, renewable appointment, based at IFPRIโs office in New Delhi, India. Interested applicants must have work authorization to work in India.
Essential Duties:
Specific duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Full-Cycle Accounts Payable (AP) processing including examining, verifying, and reconciling transactions/statements to process payments timely. Ensure proper approvals and documentation for all payments.
Research and resolve discrepancies and issues related to vendor invoices or payments.
Assist with weekly check runs, ACH payments, and wire transfers
Reconcile open vendor payables monthly.
Review, verify, and reconcile expense reports for compliance. Process employee advance and reimbursement requests.
Ensure timely submission of travel credit card expenses. Process and reconcile credit card statements.
Communicate with vendors and internal departments to answer payment inquiries and resolve discrepancies.
Support AP month-end close, including journal entries and reconciliations.
Assist with the processing of the annual 1099s.
Provide audit assistance in retrieving documents for auditors to review.
Ensure that all established controls are adhered to and evaluate processes and procedures to identify any additional required controls.
Perform other duties as required.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelorโs degree in accounting, finance or closely related field plus five years of relevant experience; or associate's degree plus seven years of relevant experience.
Deltek Costpoint 8.1 experience.
Demonstrated ability to consistently process a high volume of transactions.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and familiarity with work sharing platforms.
Strong attention to detail with high organizational skills.
Strong analytical skills.
Good oral and written communications skills.
