Background:
NRC has been active in Somalia since 2004 with four area offices in Kismayu, Mogadishu, Garowe and Hargeisa, providing protection and humanitarian assistance to refugees, internally displaced persons and returnees in Somaliland, Puntland, South Central and Jubbaland regions. NRC offers a comprehensive response for returnees and IDPs of high need, addressing their food security, livelihood, shelter, education, ICLA, and water, hygiene and sanitation needs and also responding to emergencies through NRCโs five core competences:ย Shelter, Education, Food Security and Livelihoods, WASH and Information, Counselling and Legal Assistance (ICLA).
ย Responsibilities:
The Community Mobilizer will be responsible for organizing and mobilizing the communities in the assigned target locations in Galmudug.ย
ย Context/specific skills, knowledge and experience:
Diploma/degree in Social Science, Community Engagement, or or high school graduate with experience in humanitarian.ย Previous work experience in social work, community mobilization, and community engagement. Experience working with local communities, and other relevant stakeholders. Proven ability to organize and lead community Mobilization and sensitization campaign. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong sense of initiative and problem-solving skills. Fluency in communication in the Somali language. Negotiation skills, interpersonal skills, and excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Context knowledge in Galmudug.ยMore Information:
