5 Steps to get a job in the United Nations

As the United Nations lead agency on international development, UNDP works in 170 countries and territories to eradicate poverty and reduce inequality. We help countries to develop policies, leadership skills, partnering abilities, institutional capabilities, and to build resilience to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. Our work is concentrated in three focus areas; sustainable development, democratic governance and peace building, and climate and disaster resilience.

The UNDP Nordic Representation Office (UNDP/NRO) is a decentralized function of the UNDP Bureau of External Relations and Advocacy, which is responsible for partnerships and external communications. The main office is located in Copenhagen with satellite offices located in Oslo and Stockholm. UNDP/NRO also contributes to raising awareness of current global development challenges and opportunities, and to an informed and evidence-based development debate in the Nordic counties. To this end, UNDP NRO pursues effective communications outreach and advocacy to targeted stakeholders, arrange high-level and technical international missions, and organises and contributes to relevant meetings, seminars and conferences on topical development issues.

UNDP /NRO Denmark is located within the UN City in Copenhagen, which currently accommodates eleven UN agencies with a shared vision to strengthen multilateralism and to deliver on UN reforms through joint collaboration and advocacy when relevant.
