The Public Engagement Unit is responsible for CARE Canadaโ€™s externally facing initiatives. The team is fundamental to achieving our goal of inspiring Canadians to join us in this journey with a brave and bold voice and through innovative partnerships and sustainable, balanced revenue sources.

The Communications and Outreach Manager plays an integral role in CARE Canadaโ€™s Brand, Marketing, Communication and Direct Response team. An excellent writer and communicator, the Communications and Outreach Manager is responsible for leading and supporting internal and external communications; media outreach and relations; public affairs outreach; and community mobilization and engagement.

The Communications and Outreach Manager plays a lead role in supporting the Brand, Marketing, Communications and Direct Response teamโ€™s goal to inspire Canadians to take tangible action in support of CARE Canadaโ€™s work and mission and raise awareness of the CARE Canada brand

WHAT YOU OFFER / ABOUT YOU

5 โ€“ 7 years of experience in marketing, communications, and/or public engagement role. Minimum of 3 years of experience with external communications, public relations, and media outreach. Exceptional written communications and editing skills. Experience with community mobilization and engagement. Experience with planning and supporting community initiatives. Strong capabilities in analyzing, synthesizing, and building reports and making recommendations based on data. Strong project management skills. Exceptional ability to develop and maintain key external relationships. Experience with trend monitoring and research. Ability to manage competing priorities and requests in a fast-paced team-oriented environment. College diploma or university degree in relevant field or equivalent experience.

WHAT WOULD MAKE YOU EXTRAORDINARY

Knowledge of French is considered an asset.

REQUIREMENTS

Promote and maintain an organizational culture that advances gender equality, reduces power abuse and inequalities, and fosters trust and safety.
