The EIB, the European Union's bank, is seeking to recruit for its Group Corporate Services Directorate (GCS), Group Digital Office (GDO), Platforms & Services Department (P&S), Infrastructure Services Division (IS), UC & Windows Client Services Unit (UCWS) at its headquarters in Luxembourg, a (Associate) Unified Communications Systems Engineer.

This is a full time temporary position at grade 4/5.

The term of this contract will be 4 years; as this is a temporary assignment, no extension or conversion of the contract is foreseen.

Panel interviews are anticipated to start at the beginning of April 2024.

Purpose

The EIB is currently going through a significant capital investment project for our new building. In this role, you will work on the technology roadmap, focusing on designing and delivering unified communication systems.

Your work will directly contribute to providing our staff with secure and top-tier unified communication technology services with a particular focus on meeting and board rooms. You will be responsible for coordinating technology and services across various projects, playing a crucial role in our operations.

Operating Network

You will report to the Head of Unified Communications & Windows Client Unit and will collaborate with colleagues across the EIB Group, particularly with the New Building Unit and IT. In addition, you will collaborate with external consultants as well as suppliers.

Accountabilities

Configure, deploy and monitor unified communication systems, ensuring alignment with organizational and security requirements as well as industry best practices Collaborate with cross-functional teams and coordinate tasks and activities with team members, vendors and support teams to contribute to the successful completion of the project Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans for unified communication systems Identify and report potential issues and contribute to their resolution as well as drive system upgrades and patch management activities under the guidance of senior team members Assist in capacity monitoring activities, assessing the scalability needs for unified communication systems Gather and report user feedback on unified communication tools, keeping in mind the continuous improvement of user experiences. Draft accurate and up-to-date documentation for unified communication configurations, processes, and troubleshoot procedures whilst adhering to compliance requirements Monitor and contribute to the management of relevant budgets

Qualifications

University degree (minimum an equivalent to a Bachelor) preferably in Computer Science or related disciplines. ITIL certification would be an advantage Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience, including in IT infrastructure and unified communication systems with specific knowledge of Microsoft Teams and Cisco Webex Hands-on experience in implementing and integrating unified communication systems in complex infrastructure and transformation projects. Additional understanding of security principles in the context of unified communication systems is an advantage Excellent knowledge of English and/or French (**), with a good command of the other. Knowledge of other EU languages would be an advantage

As both English and French are however official working languages of the EIB, proficiency in both languages is a pre-requisite for your future career development. Any language clause in your contract must be fulfilled in order for you to be eligible for a promotion (either via the annual appraisal cycle or via an internal selection process). Proficiency is understood to mean the attainment of level 5 of the Inter Institutional language courses, corresponding to B1.2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFRL). The Bank offers appropriate training support.
