Purpose of Job
The Analyst, Debt Mobilisation Product Development provides support to the group in the team responsible for developing new and innovative ways to mobilise predominantly private debt co-financing alongside EBRDโs loan investments.
The role assists as directed in the development of certain new products and on certain actions which are expected to facilitate the mobilisation of new types of debt investors. These include contributing as required to certain efforts to enhance reporting to and communication with investors and a number of investor education initiatives. Internally it includes supporting as required efforts to drive the required cultural change around mobilisation as well as assisting the coordination of the development of the required infrastructure to support each of the above efforts.
The role reports to the AD, Head Debt Mobilisation Product Development.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
New product development
- Contribute as requested to certain stages of new product development leading to increased private debt mobilisation, working to ensure that new products meet agreed internal and external requirements.
- Contribute to relevant product and market analysis, assisting on due diligence and structuring work and contributing to the preparation of relevant reports and material as indicated.
- Work on building internal and external working relationships to ensure effective product delivery in terms of internal focus and adequate investor interest.
New mobilisation initiatives
- As requested, be involved in interactions with other MDBs, external stakeholders and investors in certain agreed topics and initiatives that contain a private debt mobilisation aspect, component or outcome.
- Contribute to and follow up on required work on data needs, joint reporting, potential programmatic co-financing solutions and blended finance initiatives which have the scope of advancing the Bankโs mobilisation mandate through direct linkages to the new product development responsibilities.
Mobilisation metrics, enabling factors and cultural alignment
- Assist other members of the group in the coordination of internal stakeholders on the preparation of data-based integrated marketing material of relevance for new private debt investors, and contribute to the preparation of such marketing material, aiming to meet investor needs and including the financial performance of the Bankโs historical activities, as well market compatible impact and climate reporting standards.
Data soundness responsibilities
- For projects mobilising finance, ensure data is accurately reflected in core systems and Data Warehouse reports.
- Work with Data Management to design business rules and controls to assure data quality.
- Working with colleagues from Corporate Recovery, Results Management, Risk Management and Data Management, develop a standardised set of data and metrics to support reporting and analytics, both for internal and external clients.
- Work with Data Management to develop automated dashboards to track performance KPIs and data quality.
Additional responsibilities
- Contribute as required to specific elements of the preparation of all internal approvals and related material required in each of the above areas.
- Support as required certain business development opportunities to attract new private debt investors.
- Support the Execution and Advisory group on transaction work as required.
- Attend industry and mobilisation-related events and conferences, meetings with government authorities, investors, organisations and business communities as appropriate and required to advance the Bankโs mobilisation mandate.
Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Qualifications
Qualifications and Skills:
- Relevant university degree or equivalent experience.
- Credit analysis skills, with the ability to interpret accounts, understanding local and international accounting principles and practice of credit analysis.
- Strong quantitative/numerical skills with the ability to interpret financial information and to design and use financial models.
- Sound decision making skills with a focus on providing solutions. Proven business judgement and high ethical and professional standards.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
- Ideally fluency in another major language, in addition to English.
- Ideally prior experience in EBRDโs countries of operations.
Experience & Knowledge:
- Financial industry experience from an investment or commercial bank, private equity firm, asset management firm, or auditing/financial consulting firm operating to international standards.
- Ideally knowledge and experience in debt products, encompassing a combination of the syndicated loans market, leveraged and/or project finance, climate finance, structured products, credit asset management or insurance experience.
