Job Overview:
The Advocacy and Information Coordinator, working under the supervision of the Advocacy Manager, will contribute to the design and implementation of NRC Afghanistanโs Advocacy strategy. There will be a particular focus on ensuring mainstreaming of gender considerations across all advocacy initiatives, via constructive and meaningful engagement with female staff and beneficiaries.

Generic Responsibilities:
Ensure the voices of Afghan women are mainstreamed across NRC Afghanistanโs advocacy strategy and outputs. Prepare and submit reports, analysis and talking points. Ensure proper filing and documentation. Provide secretariate support to the County Management Group (CMG). Contribute to effective coordination of advocacy at different levels. Maintain the close collaboration and communication with NRC programs. Ensure adherence to NRC policies, handbooks, guidelines, donor requirements.ยSpecific Responsibilities:
Generic Professional Competencies:
University degree in social or political sciences, sociology, law, human rights, gender studies, development studies or other similar subject (international academic background would be an asset). At least 3 years of progressively responsible work experience in human rights, policy, research, or advocacy. Prior experience working in humanitarian and displacement context.ย Prior experience working with local, regional, national governmentsย and/or national/international organisations, local civil society. Confident and articulate public speaker. Practical experience in coordination, design and implementation of advocacy interventions at different levels. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Fluency in Pashtu, Dari and English. Excellent drafting skills (e.g. reports, analytical documents, etc.) Strong research and analytical skills (context, legal and policy), ability to understand and apply complex socio-cultural contexts, policy/legal frameworks to data and programmatic evidence and vice-versa. Strong interpersonal, negotiation, presentation skills. Strong understanding of the humanitarian context in Afghanistan, displacement and durable solutionsโ challenges and knowledge of the relevant international law & standards. Good understanding of the national, regional and local frameworks on IDPs (for example, in the area of access to civil documentation, freedom of movement, IDP assistance and registration, access to essential services,ย social payments, etc.).ย Experience articulating and defending organization positions and talking points to external audiences. Experience in an executive assistant role would be considered desirable.Behavioral Competencies:
