GET.invest (https://www.get-invest.eu/) is a leading European programme that supports investments in sustainable energy projects in developing countries. It is implemented by GIZ on behalf the EU, Germany, Sweden, the Netherlands, and Austria. The programme is part of the platform GET.pro (https://www.global-energy-transformation.eu/) and works with a focus on Sub-Sahara Africa, and activities in the Caribbean as well as the Pacific. The programme supports all relevant renewable energy technologies, assisting project developers and companies towards โbankabilityโ, linking them with financiers. GET.invest also stimulates new partnerships and ventures by providing information about market opportunities, through (online) events, and by cooperating with industry associations. To strengthen the supply side of financing and increase local currency investments in renewable energy, GET.invest has recently also started the Capacity Development for Domestic Financiers (CDDF). The programme is implemented by an international and dynamic team, in cooperation with a broad range of partners and stakeholders.
Your tasks
Support and coordinate the implementation of the CDDF service of GET.invest at the interface between advising companies on accessing finance and financial systems advisory Contribute to the overall management and strategic development of the CDDF activity, ensuring it is on track in terms of the objectives of GET.invest, the expectations of GET.invest donors, and the needs of relevant market actors Steering of a team of external advisors on all levels of implementation such as thematic alignment, administrative processes and reporting requirements Timely and diligent monitoring and reporting of the CDDF activities in line with GET.invest monitoring and reporting processes and its requirements, and contribute to related communication efforts Integration and alignment of CDDF in the overall GET.invest scope and specifically its activities for Finance Catalyst and Finance Readiness Support Maintain close cooperation with the GIZ Financial Systems Development team and further develop linkages and synergies with other GIZ activities and projects Presenting GET.invest and its core services in general and specifically finance system advisory related activities at conferences or events Coordination of the partnerships and cooperation networks withing GIZ and with relevant peer programmes and financiers In addition to these core tasks, depending on the candidateโs profile and the arising needs in the programme, additional complementary responsibilities may be assignedYour profile
At least a Bachelorโs degree in a relevant subject e.g. business administration, finance, economics, MBA, political science Several years of working experience with or within a financing institution in investment or asset management Professional experience in investment or investment facilitation in clean energy projects, specifically in the context of developing countries Demonstrated experience in managing senior consulting teams Experience in working in sustainable energy markets in developing countries Regional experience in sub-Saharan Africa or in international development An interdisciplinary mindset, the ability to cooperate and work in a team, willingness to take responsibility, a proactive drive to identify challenges and find solutions Business fluent in English and German; French is a strong asset; Portuguese language skills are desirable.Notes
