5 Steps to get a job in the United Nations

Mission and objectivesUNHCR has implemented a climate action programme in Uzbekistan, engaging forcibly displaced Afghan citizens and vulnerable members of the host community in tree-planting activities. For the purposes of creating communications and visibility materials, UNHCR has interviewed five participants on camera, all speaking Uzbek language.

ContextUNHCR requires the support of an online volunteer to transcribe the five Uzbek language interviews – approximately 65 minutes in total – and create a time-stamped English transcript which can be used to edit a video, write human interest stories, and produce other communications materials.

Task DescriptionThe online volunteer would be required to create an accurate time-stamped English transcript for each video, at 30-second intervals. The number of videos will be shared upon successful selection of the candidate. UNHCR does not require the Uzbek transcript, only English. This will support UNHCR to accurately portray forcibly displaced people, amplifying their voices, telling hopeful stories, and driving support for them and their host communities.
