Mission and objectivesAs the lead United Nations agency on international development, UNDP works in 170 countries and territories to eradicate poverty and reduce inequality. We help countries develop policies, leadership skills, partnerships and institutional capabilities to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. UNDP is working in Bolivia since 1974. Currently the main areas of intervention are: streghtening public administration, governance, climate change, biodiversity, green finances and acces to renewal energy, and others.

ContextThis assignment forms part of the broader efforts of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Bolivia, which generates a diverse array of knowledge products aligned with its strategic areas of intervention. Translating these materials into English facilitates the dissemination of best practices, results, and lessons learned to international audiences, thereby promoting global cooperation and the exchange of knowledge. The contribution of the volunteer will play a key role in enhancing the visibility of UNDP Boliviaโ€™s work within regional and international forums for dialogue and advocacy.

Task DescriptionThe online volunteer will support the translation and editing into English of documents originally written in Spanish. Using artificial intelligence tools as a first step, the volunteer is expected to review, edit, and ensure the accuracy, clarity, and consistency of the translations. The documents will include a variety of formats such as success stories, interviews, quantitative and qualitative research reports, and public policy documents. By the end of the assignment, it is expected that at least 10 documents will have been translated and edited, each approximately 3 pages or 1,000 words per page.
