Background
Plan International is an NGO active in Poland focusing on advancing childrenโs rights and promoting gender equality. Since March 2022, weโve worked in Poland to deliver immediate humanitarian aid to children and their families affected by the conflict in Ukraine. As an active member of the Child Protection Sub Working Group, Plan International has taken on the initiative of translating the Child Protection Minimum Standards (CPMS), a global package that provides comprehensive operating procedures and standards for child protection practitioners in humanitarian settings. The Child Protection Minimum Standards (CPMS) equip humanitarians seeking to protect children effectively with the most comprehensive and up-to-date best practice so they can deliver professional programs.
The position of Translation Consultant would be responsible for reviewing the Polish translated CPMS document, checking for any edits and errors and highlighting sections where translation seems unclear or inaccurate. The Translation Consultant would then lead a 1-2 day workshop with child protection practitioners to review the highlighted sections and gain consensus on proper interpretation. The Translation Consultant would be responsible for collating feedback from the workshop and finalising the CPMS Polish Translation ensuring it meets the standards set by the Alliance for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action.
