Solution Architect

Role

As a Solution Architect, you will lead in designing and implementing technical solutions to address ISO’s business challenges.

We seek an individual who can translate functional requirements into technical solutions while adhering to application road maps and ISO’s application design principles. If you are enthusiastic about creating IT systems that solve real-world problems and ready to embrace technical challenges, you could be the ideal candidate to contribute to our ongoing evolution in how we develop, publish, and distribute ISO standards.

Key responsibilities

Design and develop technical solutions that meet functional requirements and application roadmap schedulesAssist business analysts in the validation of functional requirements, user stories, test plans and acceptance criteriaSupport project management activities by providing work breakdowns, estimates and release schedulesCoordinate development team members by providing technical guidance and code reviewsManage day-to-day technical challenges and communicate to the project manager any risks or issues associated with development activitiesLiaise with other solution architects / technical leads to identify interdependencies and synergies to ensure coherence across ISO’s applicationsProvide guidance, oversight and research on technical topics to support ISO’s business activities

Report to: Head of Development

Qualification and Experience

University or post-graduate degree in computer science, software engineering or other highly technical, scientific disciplineProfessional experience as a technical leadProfessional experience in applying project management methodologies

Skills

Technical skills:

10+ years of experience and strong knowledge in Java, Kotlin, Typescript, Spring/Spring Boot and MavenProven work experience with API services (RESTFul, GraphQL) and front-end technologies (Angular, Thymeleaf)Experience with relational (Oracle, Postgres) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, ElasticSearch) as well as persistence frameworks (Spring JPA/Hibernate)Experience in applying software development processes using version control (Git), continuous integration (Bitbucket), quality assurance (JUnit, SonarQube, E2E testing) and ticket management (Jira)Understanding and implementing application security using OAuth/OpenID in SSO federationGood knowledge of cloud architectures and design patterns to create resilient and scalable applications

Soft skills:

Excellent analytic and problem-solving skillsGood communicator. English (oral & written communication) required.
