Legal Adviser
Role
The role of the Legal Adviser is to focus on contract, data protection and copyright law.
Key responsibilities
- Provide advice with the review, draft and negotiation a variety of contracts (such as SaaS, Supply and Consultancy Agreements, Partnerships etc.)
- Manage contractual risks and provide appropriate mitigations
- Review relevant documentation and propose relevant contractual measures to be compliance with Swiss data protection law, including: draft and review data processing agreements, review data subjects’ requests, and carry out due diligence on new suppliers
- Advise on copyright related issues, particularly in relation to the interpretation of the policy and enforcement
- Manage ISO Central Secretariat trademark registrations and renewals (including with some administrative work), assist ISO members in their registration process and provide support on oppositions or infringement cases
- Assist in the preparation of governance documents related to the work/mandate of the Legal Services; develop training materials and provide legal trainings to ISO staff
- Liaise with and oversee anti-piracy service provider, including preparation of data analysis re: trends and opportunities
- Update the wiki and member portal of the Legal Services pages
- Keep abreast of legislative changes that may affect areas of interest for the organization
