The TeamThe Institute for Disease Modeling (IDM) is an embedded research institute within the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, supporting global efforts to eradicate infectious diseases and achieve permanent improvements in health. We develop, use, and share computational modeling tools, and promote quantitative decision-making through robust mathematical and statistical modeling. The IDM team comprises both research scientists and software engineers. IDM has a bold and important vision, and you will play a key role in realizing that vision through the impact you have as a technical software product management leader and strategic thinker.

Your Role

As a Senior Technical Product Manager on the Partner Experience team, you will play a key role in co-creating and connecting research and software strategies to technical solutions to streamline technology-based solutions that accelerate collaborative experiences.

Your role will evaluate existing technological (hardware and software) experiences between IDM teams, partner program strategy teams (PSTs) within the foundation, and external partners (such as African modelers). Within this role, you will focus on our partnerโ€™s technology-based experience, then, as an advocate, connect with foundation teams and collaborators to improve the experience through design, documentation, infrastructure, and/or training recommendations

Your scope will span across research areas, external partners, and vendors and a range of models, tools, and platforms used to enable quantitative decision making. You will bring together key stakeholders and team members to collaboratively define and prioritize our technical direction and roadmap. You will translate ideas into detailed specifications, solution alternatives, or execution plans depending on the stage and needs of product development. You know how to navigate across teams and partners and ensure prioritization of and delivery of shared goals. We need someone who is able and excited to learn new areas quickly, is comfortable with ambiguity and able to develop right-sized process that tracks and communicates progress of programs and initiatives. You have a passion for our mission and commitment to driving it forward.

You will have unique opportunities to interact with teams across IDM, global-health policymakers, collaborate with extraordinary researchers and non-profit organizations, and contribute to more effective global health improvements and disease eradication strategies.
