5 Steps to get a job in the United Nations

World Wildlife Fund (WWF), one of the worldโ€™s leading conservation organizations, seeks a Senior Program Officer, Circular Supply Chain Business Engagement

Major Function and Background

This role will work directly with the Circular Supply Chain Manager, other staff in the WWF Food Loss and Waste department, and WWFโ€™s Private Sector Engagement team. They will primarily support project management, business engagement, and communications surrounding our voluntary agreement programs, including the Pacific Coast Food Waste Commitment and the set-to-launch in 2024 new U.S. Food Waste Pact (FWP). The role will also support our one-on-one corporate partnerships, platforms like HotelKitchen.org, and other food loss and waste circular supply chain initiatives.

Background on the U.S. Food Waste Pact - With 38% of food being wasted, Americans facing food insecurity, and climate change posing an ever-greater threat, there is no time (or food) to waste. The U.S. FWP is calling on leading food businesses across the supply chain to join its efforts to: 1) develop the nationโ€™s leading food waste measurement and benchmarking, and 2) pilot innovative and scalable solutions that pave the way forward for more businesses across the country to cost-effectively reduce food waste. U.S. Food Waste Pact businesses and partners commit to work to reduce food waste in the U.S. by 50% by 2030, a critical step toward building a circular and more sustainable supply chain.
