We do this by:

Lead the compilation and analysis of data collected from Intervention and activities of AU member states in the implementation of AU led or supported Mediation Processes;Develop and oversee the implementation of KM policies and procedures, designing and managing KM systems and tools, and overseeing the dissemination and use of knowledge resources;Ensure adequate liaison with other AU Organs or offices, RECs/RMs, the UN and other Organizations, Institutions, and the RECs/RMs on matters related to Knowledge management;Coordinates and manages day-to-day project operations and team priorities of the Knowledge Management function;Monitor and analyzes knowledge management networks, tools and methodologies and their viability to support and promote new and emerging development opportunities;Conducts research to strengthen the Knowledge Management function and to stay abreast of new developments in the respective professions of Archives, Knowledge Management and Library.ย Organize initiatives to strengthen the capacity of the Knowledge Management function through workshops or seminars that lead to the formation of communities of Practice, collaborations with both internal and external stakeholders as well as to popularize the roles of Knowledge Management;Draft and consolidate reports for the attention of the supervisors/ AU Commission Leadership and Policy Organs;Perform any other related responsibilities as may be assigned.ย

Education: A Masterโ€™s degree in business or public administration, management, statistics, economics, political science or other related fields; with seven (7) years of experience at specialist or expertise level in programme/project management area of work.ย A Bachelor degree in the above-mentioned fields with at least ten (10) years relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a Masterโ€™s degree; Work Experience: Good comparative knowledge of KM strategies of the AU, RECs/RMs or the UN is desirable;Knowledge of African Union Agenda 2063 and its flagship project of Silencing the Guns would be advantageous;Previous experience with Government, NGO, multilateral, regional or international institutions would be advantageous; Skills and Competencies: Proven ICT skills, especially in MS-Excel and Statistical Data softwareโ€™s;Sound planning and organizational skills, with excellent attention to detail;Excellent communication and writing skills, including sound concept development and reporting skills;Ability to work under pressure, stay on track and meet deadlines;Ability to understand the work of governments, NGOs and multi-lateral institutionsComputer literate and well versed in the use of the Internet, Power Point, Excel and Word;Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work closely with colleagues in a multi-cultural environment and multi-lateral institution.

Proficiency in English is a must.Knowledge of a third or all of the other AU working languages would be an added advantage.

Tenure of Appointment

The appointment shall be for a period of one (1) year, with the possibility of renewal, the first three (3) months of which shall be on probation.

Remuneration

The salary attached to the position is at P3 Step 5 inclusive of all allowances for internationally recruited staff.
