The position is located in the HR Data and Technology Unit of the Human Resources Operations Service, Human Resources Management Department. The HR Data and Technology Unit leads the digital transformation efforts of HRMD in the area of people analytics, drives the simplification, modernization and digitalization of HR-related business processes and facilitates the coordination, implementation and maintenance of HR-related IT-solutions.

b.ย ย ย  Purpose Statement

ย 

The Senior Business and Data Analyst is expected to develop effective reporting tools for HR data and analytics on talent management, to redesign and digitalize HR-related business processes and to coordinate the development of HR-related IT solutions, all in close cooperation with the business owners and WIPO's IT system delivery teams.

The Senior Business and Data Analyst reports to the Manager, HR Data and Technology Unit.

d.ย ย ย  Working Relations

ย 

The incumbent works closely with colleagues from the Talent Management Service and HR Operations as well as other stakeholders across the Organization, especially with WIPO's IT system delivery teams.

2.ย ย ย ย ย  Duties and Responsibilities

ย 

The incumbent will perform the following principal duties:

ย 

a.ย ย  Develop a strategic vision and roadmap for people analytics to provide HRMD and business leaders with greater access and visibility to human capital data and analytics.

ย 

b.ย ย  Identify needs in relation to data collections, analyze talent management data, develop models, identify trends and apply story-telling approaches, that contribute to the organizations capacity to make informed decisions on HR-related matters.

ย 

c.ย ย  Design, prototype, test and implement effective reporting tools in close cooperation with WIPO's IT system delivery teams, that provide HRMD, WIPO business leaders and external stakeholders with the necessary insights on human capital data and analytics.

ย 

d.ย ย  Lead the analysis and documentation of current HR-related business processes and user journeys, propose improvements and optimizations for streamlining those and identify indicators to measure benefits.

ย 

e.ย ย  Propose and implement suitable tools and techniques including further automation of employee and manager self-service processes to enhance employee experience.

ย 

f.ย ย ย  Identify and analyze evolving business needs, gather and document user requirements for HR-related IT tools and prioritize its implementation.

ย 

g.ย ย  Work in close cooperation with WIPO's IT system delivery teams on drafting detailed specifications, prototyping, user testing and implementation of changes to HR-related IT solutions to ensure that tools are built and enhanced according to business needs.

3.ย ย ย ย ย  Requirements

ย 

Education (Essential)

Advanced University degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics or related field. A first-level university degree plus two years of relevant experience in addition to the experience requested below may be acceptable in lieu of an advanced university degree.

ย 

Experience (Essential)

At least seven years of relevant professional work experience, of which at least three years in working with data, in the business intelligence, analytics and data science field.

ย 

Experience with visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.

ย 

Experience in using tools to document Use Case Diagrams, Data and Process Flow Diagrams etc.

ย 

Experience in managing projects.

ย 

Experience (Desirable)

Experience with HR data, systems and processes, in particular in supporting an HR function in its digital transformation.

ย 

Experience in analyzing data, developing models, identifying trends and applying story-telling approaches in the field of talent management, such as workforce planning, diversity, performance management and employee experience.

ย 

Experience with agile project methodologies.

ย 

Language (Essential)

Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English.

ย 

Language (Desirable)

Knowledge of other UN official languages, particularly French.
