The Senior Accountant is a member of the Corporate Finance team. Reporting to the Manager, Financial Services, the Senior Accountant is responsible for the accounting related to CARE Cuba and CAREโ€™s Rapid Response Team. The Senior Accountant is also responsible for accounting for CARE Canadaโ€™s many Projects. The Senior Accountant contributes to a timely month end close and participates in the Financial Statement Audit process. The Senior Accountant also acts as a backup for other members of the Corporate Finance Team.

WHAT YOU OFFER / ABOUT YOU

Minimum five years' work experience in day-to-day operational finance. Understanding of Accounting Principles Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize Strong ability to meet deadlines. Keen attention to detail Strong customer service and creative problem-solving skills with an ability to analyze, conceptualize and collaborate as part of a team. Ability to evaluate processes and propose recommendations, familiarity with internal controls. Experience preparing procedure manuals for use by financial and non-financial users High level of professionalism including strict adherence to confidentiality. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Superior interpersonal skills, with a preference for working as part of a team for a diverse group of individuals with competing priorities. Strong computer skills in word processing and spreadsheet applications, including data manipulation; proficiency with MS Outlook, MS Word, and MS Excel, as well as a demonstrated ability to learn computer software programs. Post-secondary diploma, degree, or certification in finance/commerce/administration.

WHAT WOULD MAKE YOU EXTRAORDINARY

Experience using Concur and/or PeopleSoft is desired.

Starting Salary Range between $75,000 - $80,000.
