Result of ServiceThe objective of this assignment is to produce a polished and impactful final performance that effectively integrates SDG principles, demonstrating students' creative growth, sustainability awareness, and their ability to communicate key SDG messages to the audience, inspired by the โ€œESCWA Storiesโ€ books. Work LocationRemotely Expected duration1 Month Duties and ResponsibilitiesBackground The SDG Stories Team was established by ESCWAโ€™s Executive Secretary to mainstream the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) among young persons in the Arab region by using the โ€œESCWA Storiesโ€ comic book as an educational tool. The team visits educational institutions, interacts with students and teachers, and organizes activities and events for the promotion of the comic book and its objectives. Against this background, an SDG Education and Performance Trainer is needed to coach students in three schools in Lebanon for their end-of-year performance, inspired by SDGs and the โ€œESCWA Storiesโ€ book. The Trainer will work in close cooperation with the SDG Stories team at ESCWA. The SDG Education and Performance Trainer will undertake the following tasks: โ€ข Mentor the students to enhance their overall end-of-year creative performance, incorporating SDG principles to enrich their learning experience and encourage sustainable practices. โ€ข Conduct and lead multiple rehearsals at schools to perfect the performance, in collaboration with the SDG Stories Team, ensuring the integration of SDG themes. โ€ข Accompany and support students during the final performance, ensuring their presentation aligns with both creative and SDG objectives. Qualifications/special skillsA High School Diploma or any other related equivalence is required. All candidates must submit a copy of the required educational degree. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed. A minimum of 3 years of experience in educational or creative performance roles, such as teaching, coaching, or mentoring students in artistic disciplines (theater, dance, music, etc.) is required. Familiarity with the UN system and sustainable development agenda is desirable. LanguagesEnglish and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat; and Arabic is a working language of ESCWA. For this position, fluency in Arabic is required. Note: โ€œFluencyโ€ equals a rating of โ€˜fluentโ€™ in all four areas (speak, read, write, and understand) and โ€œKnowledge ofโ€ equals a rating of โ€˜confidentโ€™ in two of the four areas.
