Your responsibilities
As a Safety Engineer, you will join the Accelerator Systems Department (SY) which is is responsible for the accelerator beam-related technical systems.
This position is specifically dedicated to the safty engineering for a new Superconductive Radiofrequency Facility that includes clean rooms and a chemical laboratory.
Specificall, you will:
Keep the Project Leader informed of all Safety matters that fall under the responsibility of the Project;Perform safety risk assessments, in particular fire and chemical risk assessment;Support the project leader in obtaining Safety clearances regarding the Project in accordance with the applicable CERN Safety Rules;Establish the Safety documentation for the new facility and ensure the traceability (safety file);Contribute to the incident analysis reports regarding the Project and define on appropriate measures and ensure that they are implemented;Support to the SY Safety Office with their overall tasks: Conduct incident analysis, define on appropriate measures and ensure the follow up of their implementation;write incident analysis reports;Perform occupational risk assessment, document the analysis and ensure the follow up of the action plan defined;Contribute to the Safety documentation of facilities under the responsibility of the SY departmentYour profile
Skills and/or knowledge
Technical competencies:
Sound knowledge of professional risks and means to reduce these risks;Sound knowledge of the risk assessment methodology, in particular fire and chemical risk assessment.Advantageous technical competencies:
Knowledge of the clean room classification (ISO ISO 14644-1) and related safety requirements, in particular fire protection, is an asset;Knowledge of the French ICPE regulation (Installations Classรฉes pour la Protection de l'Environnement) is an asset.Behavioural competencies:
Working in teams and cooperate constructively with others in the pursuit of team goals;Communicating effectively with multiple stakeholders.Language skills:
Fluent in English, the ability to work in French would be an advantage.Eligibility criteria:
You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.You have a professional background in Occupational Health and Safety (or a related field) and have either: a Master's degree with 2 to 6 years of post-graduation professional experience;or a PhD with no more than 3 years of post-graduation professional experience.You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.Additional Information

This position requires:
