The Vice Presidency for Finance and Administration (VPF) is responsible for the mobilization and management of the Bankโ€™s resources and the provision of support services, ensuring effective, efficient performance by staff in the budget, corporate procurement, administrative services, finance, legal, human resources and information technology areas of the Bank.

About this position

As a senior member of the Office of the VPF, the Senior Advisor/Advisor reports directly to the Vice President for Finance and Administration and provides strategic and tactical support to ensure effective oversight and coordination across VPF business units. The role requires advanced leadership, communication, and project management skills to contribute to consensus and decision-making process. The incumbent also plays a key role in pursuing the continuous improvement of VPF processes, strengthening (internal) client-centric approach, and achieving effective strategic alignment to the Bankโ€™s institutional strategy.

What youโ€™ll do:

The successful candidate has energy and enthusiasm, sound judgement and solid analytical skills, the capacity to multi-task and adapt to demanding and evolving priorities, and a passion for (internal) client service. The incumbent will proactively engage with people at all levels and throughout VPF and the Bank at large, thus strong organizational and networking skills are required.
Principal duties include:

Provide for quality assurance by reviewing proposals and deliverables of VPF departments, ensuring the Vice President is adequately briefed and apprised of important issues as they arise and facilitating the sharing of information and alignment of communication and actions across VPF. Collaborate closely with senior Bank leadership to facilitate the implementation of decisions made. The Senior Advisor/Advisor will liaison with the office of the Presidency and other members of the Groupโ€™s senior leadership team on general organizational matters. As such, his/her role is to enable prompt coordination and smooth execution. Interact periodically with Advisors to the President and Vice Presidents to provide relevant support from VPF. The selected candidate may be called to lead / coordinate Bank-wide or VPF-wide projects and initiatives. This role includes also ensuring appropriate follow up on actions, decisions and commitments, including also audit and non-audit recommendations. The role will require networking both internally as well as externally. Represent the Vice President in Management Committees and working groups. The selected candidate will be able to leverage his/her substantive expertise in one of the areas in which VPF operates (Finance, Human Resources, Budgetary and Procurement activities, Information Technology and Data, Legal) and gain expertise in other VPF matters. The selected candidate will play an active role in promoting data-driven decision making and culture, embedding key performance indicators and their use across VPF processes to assess performance, allocate resources and decide on action plans towards continuous improvement.

Education requirement: Master's degree or equivalent Licenciatura/advanced degree in Management, Business Administration, Finance, or related fields required. Experience: At least 7-10 years of relevant experience working for an international financial institution. Solid knowledge of the multilateral development banks system is a plus. Languages: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Fluency in Spanish is helpful for day-to-day interactions and career growth. If you choose to learn Spanish, the Bank will provide the necessary training support.
