7 Steps to get a job in the United Nations

JOB SUMMARY:

At CSIS we actively seek to employ a diverse group of people who embody our organizational values. We welcome and encourage individuals of all backgrounds to apply, especially those from traditionally underrepresented groups.

The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) is a non-profit, bipartisan public policy organization established in 1962 to provide strategic insights and practical policy solutions to decision makers concerned with global security and prosperity. Over the years, it has grown to be one of the largest organizations of its kind, with a staff of some 200 employees, including more than 120 analysts working to address the changing dynamics of international security across the globe.

The Global Health Policy Center's goal is to generate independent, forward-thinking, and multifaceted analyses that reach a bipartisan audience and shape U.S. policy approaches on global health. We do this by undertaking policy-relevant research and bringing together diverse stakeholdersโ€“U.S. policy makers from across the aisle, global health experts, and global health and foreign policy practitionersโ€“to discuss critical issues and develop recommendations regarding U.S. global health leadership, policies, and programs. To do this, we capitalize on our expertise in health security, infectious disease, and womenโ€™s and family health, as well as the expertise of the broader CSIS expert community on regional politics, national security, and development challenges, to examine the geopolitical issues affecting current and future global health activities.

The CSIS Global Health Policy Center seeks a Research Associate to contribute to projects related to routine immunizations and HIV/AIDS within the CSIS Bipartisan Alliance for Global Health Security. The Research Associate will directly support the Senior Fellow and Director of Immunization and Health Systems Resilience. Responsibilities will include conducting research and data analysis; contributing to the development of reports, articles, and policy papers; and serving as the focal point for working groups and other high-level convenings. In collaboration with other staff, the Research Associate will be responsible for the coordination of meetings and events in support of the portfolio and program. The Research Associate will also be responsible for coordinating intern assignments and activity. The Research Associate will liaise regularly with the program directors, staff, interns, and external consultants.

This position will be based in-person at the CSIS headquarters, located in Washington, D.C.

The annual salary range for this position is $59,000 to $70,000.
