Result of ServiceThe primary objective of this service is to support the ESCWA Technology Centre (ETC) in strengthening the visibility, engagement and impact of its flagship digital platforms: DEPAR and the Arab Creative Market (ACM), and the programmes they represent, including in the lead-up to and during the Arab SMEs Summit. This includes supporting the creation and management of high-quality digital content, the continuous updating of DEPAR and ACM with programme and beneficiary data, the activation of entrepreneurship and creative communities, and the delivery of coordinated digital campaigns that translate ETCโ€™s project activities and results into measurable platform reach, engagement and donor-ready impact. Work LocationAmman Expected duration6 months Duties and ResponsibilitiesBackground The ESCWA Technology Centre (ETC) operates two flagship regional digital platforms: DEPAR (the Digital Entrepreneurship Platform for the Arab Region) and the Arab Creative Market (ACM), which support entrepreneurs, MSMEs and creative businesses by connecting them to knowledge, programmes, markets and partners across the Arab region. These platforms form the digital backbone of ETCโ€™s entrepreneurship, e-commerce, creative economy, green and women-led SME programmes, and serve as key tools for outreach, visibility and donor engagement. With the expansion of ETCโ€™s portfolio and the upcoming Arab SMEs Summit, there is a growing need to ensure that DEPAR and ACM are actively maintained with high-quality content, strong community engagement and coordinated digital campaigns that translate programme delivery into measurable digital impact.ETC therefore seeks to recruit Individual Contractors to support content creation, platform management, community building and digital promotion across DEPAR, ACM and ETC programmes. Duties and responsibilities The IC will work under the supervision of the Executive Director of The ESCWA Technology Centre (ETC). In particular, the Project Coordinator will be tasked to do the following: 1. Develop and manage high-quality digital content for DEPAR, the Arab Creative Market and ETC programmes, including profiles, posts, announcements, and visual assets such as banners and infographics, and short videos and multimedia. 2. Actively contribute to task forces established to update and strengthen DEPAR and ACM by uploading, curating and structuring content on programmes, opportunities, businesses and knowledge products, ensuring that both platforms accurately reflect ETCโ€™s live portfolio of initiatives, partnerships and beneficiaries. 3. Grow and activate the DEPAR and ACM communities by onboarding and listing entrepreneurs, SMEs and organizations from ESCWA-supported programmes (such as e-commerce accelearation programme, creative industries, and IP clinics), supporting online engagement activities, and turning programme beneficiaries into active platform users and contributors. 4. Work with the ETC team to design and deliver coordinated promotional campaigns that increase visibility of flagship programmes and training sessions, driving traffic, engagement and awareness across social media, DEPAR and the ACM. 5. Deploy coordinated DEPAR and ACM content before, during and after the Arab SMEs Summit to showcase ETC programmes, partners and beneficiaries, and to ensure that Summit outcomes, participants and opportunities are captured and reflected on the two platforms. 6. Finalize the migration of the SME Portal into the DEPAR platform, including the structuring, tagging and alignment of content by topic, relevance and user needs. 7. Track key performance indicators such as platform usage, content reach, campaign performance and community growth, and compile these into reports. 8. Collect user feedback through surveys or interviews and reflect key needs in platform content, features and updates on DEPAR and ACM. 9. Receive CMS training and independently upload and update content on DEPAR. 10. Support other ETC team members and contribute to additional tasks as needed to ensure the timely and effective delivery of ETC projects, platforms and events. Qualifications/special skillsA Bachelorโ€™s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Project Management, Engineering, Information Technology, Graphic Design or a related field relevant to digital platforms, entrepreneurship, or innovation is required. All candidates must submit a copy of the required educational degree. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed. Project Coordination: A minimum of 5 years of practical experience encompassing project coordination, program administration, program management assistance, and other relevant fields closely associated with the role is required. Digital Programme Support: Experience supporting entrepreneurship, SME, creative or development programmes through digital platforms, campaigns or online engagement is required. Organizational Skills: The ability to efficiently manage tasks, time, and resources, ensuring clear project coordination and prioritization is requried. Attention to Details: Meticulously reviewing work to identify and correct errors or inconsistencies is desirable. Flexibility: Adaptability to changing tasks, roles, and responsibilities in dynamic work environments is desirable. LanguagesEnglish and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat; and Arabic is a working language of ESCWA. For this position, fluency in English is required and knowledge of Arabic is required.
