ย Context
Under the overall supervision of the Head of the Migrant Protection and Assistance Unit and direct supervision of the Senior Migrant Protection Assistant the incumbent will support in activities related to intake, registration and migrant community outreach, as part of a broader aim to ensure smooth processing and assistance provision to migrant beneficiaries at IOM Egypt.ย ย
Theย Programmeย Associate (Outreach)ย is expected to carry out duties in accordance with strictest ethical standards.
- Support in the daily activities involving intake and registration of new applicants to the migrant protection and assistance services.
- Support and conduct interviewsย to eligible and non-eligible migrants and ensure proper referral to other related organizations is provided.
- Schedule appointments for eligible cases, based on the vulnerability and availability of the caseworkers, screening rooms, etc.ย
- Coordinate with interpreters and monitor their working hours, including also prepare their payment documents.
- Assist in liaising with community leaders and migrant council representatives to improve communication channels between IOM and migrant communities.ย
- Respond promptly to suggestions and feedback from migrant communities with the objective of informing migrant-led service provisions.ย ย
- Implement monitoring and evaluation of related outreach activities, in coordination with the Project Officer and Senior Migrant Protection Assistants.
- Ensure appropriate data management of the community outreach activities, including entering data into IOM local and global databases and proper filing in accordance with data management guidelines. Monitor compliance amongst all staff members and volunteers.ย
- Undertake other duties as assigned; Education
- University degree in Social or Political Science, Psychology, Social work or related field from an accredited academic institution with three years of relevant professional experience; or
- High School degree with a minimum of five years of relevant professional experience. Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database. ย Experience
- Previous experience in International Organizations and development/humanitarian sector.
- Experience in humanitarian programmes for migrants and capacity-building activities; and,
- Experience working directly with migrant or refugee populations including experience conducting vulnerability assessments and interviews/screenings. ย Languages
- English and Arabic IOMโs official languages are English, French and Spanish.
