    Organizational context:

    The job holder will work under the supervision of the Head of Field-Office, receiving guidance and regular feedback from the Programme Policy Officer (gender, protection, and accountability) and Monitoring/Evaluation officer from the Country Office on work performed. S/he will be based in the Dhangadhi Field-Office, requiring travel to WFP activities implemented areas.

    Job Purpose:

    To provide support to policy and programme activities that effectively meet WFP Nepal Country Strategic Plan (2G CSP) 2024-2028 operation needs.

    Background:

    WFP Nepalโ€™s Country Strategic Plan (2G CSP) 2024-2028 was reviewed and approved by the WFP Executive Board in its session of November 2024 and it came into effect from January 2024. It aims to contribute to four Country Strategic Plan Outcomes (CSP Outcomes) that are aligned to two Strategic Results of Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 2 (Zero Hunger) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for Development). A total of six Activities are planned to be implemented to achieve the contributions to the four CSPs.

    Under the Integrated Road Map (IRM), WFP has committed to a new way of working, linking not only all activities to the defined Strategic Outcomes but also linking resources used for implementing the activities to the results achieved.

    The four Country Strategic Plan Outcomes (CSP) are:

    • CSP Outcome 1: Affected and at-risk populations in Nepal meet their food, nutrition, and other essential needs before, during, and aftershocks and other stressors.
    • CSP Outcome 2: School-age children and adolescents and nutritionally deprived groups in Nepal have improved education and nutrition outcomes and greater access to affordable, nutritious, and safe diets, including through social protection programme, by 2028.
    • CSP Outcome 3: Smallholder farmers and climate-vulnerable populations in Nepal benefit from climate-resilient and equitable food systems, sustainable livelihoods and climate-proof assets and services by 2028.
    • CSP Outcome 4: Communities vulnerable to and affected by crises in Nepal benefit from improved common service and enhanced capacities of Government and humanitarian and development actors by 2028.

      ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

      The Programme Associate (Operation Support) will be directly supervised by the Head of the WFP Field-Office - S/he will have the overall responsibility of assisting the WFP Country Office and Field-Office to document the impact of the CSP activities and develop knowledge products, gather the information in relation with protection and accountability issues and help in timely management response.
