OVERVIEW OF THE FUNCTIONS OF THE POST

Under the overall authority of the Kyiv Desk Liaison Officer and the direct supervision of the CLT Project Officer, the Programme Assistant shall contribute to the work of the Culture (CLT) Sector in Ukraine, supporting to the implementation of CLT projects and activities in Ukraine;

Specifically, the incumbent shall:

  • Assist and provide secretariat, administrative and logistical support to CLT programme activities in Ukraine, including, but not limited to, the organization of meetings, conferences, missions, including travel authorizations and make travel arrangements, and other relevant programme activities.
  • Provide support with minor procurement, vendor management and the establishment of contracts required for the implementation of CLT activities.
  • Provide general office assistance, receive, register, review and draft correspondence, emails and letters in English and Ukrainian and draft and assist in preparing background documents, meeting agendas, invitations, minutes, forms, briefing notes, presentations, talking points, speeches, media content, and other relevant documents in English and Ukrainian.
  • Provide translation of documents from Ukrainian to English and vise-versa, as required, and assist with interpretation during relevant meetings.
  • Develop and maintain update contact lists, maintain electronic and paper files up-to-date and in accordance with the standards of filing rules and practices in place and contribute to archiving tasks.
  • Undertake other tasks as deemed relevant by the direct supervisor.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    Academic qualifications

  • Completed secondary, technical, or vocational education.

    Professional experience

    A Minimum of three (3) years of work experience in providing secretarial, logistic and administrative support to programmes and projects teams.

    Languages

  • Excellent knowledge (written and spoken) of English and Ukrainian.

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in supporting teams in the culture sector, or strong interest in the respective sector.
  • Relevant professional experience in UN System or at the international level.

    REMUNERATION

    The annual starting base salary for this post is 13142 USD, excluding medical and pension coverage (up to 15% from the base salary) and danger allowance.

    The remuneration paid is not exempt from any income tax which may be levied by the tax authorities in the country where work is performed or any other tax authorities.
