Over the years, it has grown to be one of the largest organizations of its kind, with a staff of approximately 250 employees, including more than 120 analysts working to address the changing dynamics of international security across the globe. ย CSIS GFWSP seeks a highly motivated, exceptionally organized program coordinator or program manager (PC/PM) to support its food and water security programming in support of GFWSPโs goals. The PC/PM is an integral part of the team and responsible for overseeing a wide range of program components, including managing the programโs budget and financial reporting, overseeing partnership and grant activities, supporting new project development and fundraising efforts, organizing program events, liaising with other CSIS programs and outside stakeholders, monitoring events and trends in global food and water security, and contributing to the programโs research portfolio.ย ย The role has room for additional growth in project management after mastery of essential duties and responsibilities. While this role is first and foremost a management and administrative position, there is room to grow in research areas as capacity and program needs are considered. ย The salary range for a program coordinator is $55,000-$60,000. The salary range for a Program Manager is $60,000-$65,000. Pay is commensurate with experience. ย The selected candidate is expected to be located in D.C. and work five days a week, Monday through Friday, for a total of 35 hours. ย ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: ย Essential functions may include, but are not limited to the following ย Contribute to the intellectual vitality of the Center by producing work which embodies the CSIS principles of scholarly independence, objective analysis, political bipartisanship, and policy impact. ย I. Project Management (65%), including but not limited to: โข Develop, monitor, and review project budgets and annual program budgets (revenue and expenses), including drafting new project budget proposals, analyzing monthly accounting statements, and preparing for regular budget reviews. Additional responsibilities include processing reimbursements as necessary and overseeing vendor and consultant payments. โข Collaborate with program Director and CSIS Office of Development to support new project development and fundraising efforts, including meeting with funding prospects, drafting new project proposals, facilitating new project agreements, and tracking fundraising pipelines. โข Oversee ongoing project activities and requirements through drafting project workplans, tracking deadlines and reporting requirements, and liaising with external stakeholders and program partners. โข Lead the coordination of public events, private events, and other activities including meetings, seminars, and briefings, in collaboration with GFWSP colleagues and program Director. โขOther tasks as assigned by the Director, as needed. II. Administration (25%), including but not limited to: โข Maintain, manage, and update professional contact database and program engagements through Salesforce software. โข Manage the program and Directorโs calendars, including coordinating internal and external engagements and travel, as needed. โข Other tasks as assigned by the Director, as needed. III. Research (10%), including but not limited to: โข Monitor news, trends, and developments in global food and water security and related areas, and provide research support, backgrounders, and contribute to the programโs content portfolio on an ad-hoc basis. ย ย KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE:ย ย โข Bachelorโs degree in International Relations, International Development, Public Policy/Administration, or related field.ย โข For the program coordinator role, at least 1-2 years of relevant experience (including internships). โข For the program manager role, at least 2-3 years of relevant experience (including internships). โข Demonstrated interest in global food and water security (e.g., policies, programs, stakeholders, and coordination platforms). Experience in food and water security policy a plus. โข Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to plan and execute multiple overlapping activities (e.g., events, publications, meetings, and others) concurrently, and to operate successfully in a fast-paced environment. Experience in event planning and management is a plus.ย โข Experience and/or strong interest in budget and financial management, fundraising, and related efforts. โข Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate diplomatically with high-level partners and external stakeholders across sectors. โข A self-starting and entrepreneurial mind-set and ability to work well both independently and collaboratively; sound judgment and impeccable integrity, positive attitude, and creative outlook. โข A strong โteam playerโ disposition, including willingness to support all other team membersโ work, execute a variety of tasks as needed, which contribute to the success of the entire team. โข Microsoft Office literacy.
