POSITION TITLE: Private Sector Engagement SpecialistLOCATION: Dhaka, BangladeshDEPARTMENT: Human Rights, Education, and EmpowermentREPORTS TO: Deputy Chief of Party Winrock International is recruiting applicants for the position of Private Sector Engagement Specialist for USAIDโ€™s Esho Shikhi Activity (Esho Shikhi) in Bangladesh. The objective of the activity is to increase learning opportunities, improve the quality of education, build the capacity of communities to support education and respond to disasters, and ultimately improve learning outcomes of marginalized Bangladeshi children in crisisaffected marginalized communities. POSITION SUMMARY: The private sector in Bangladesh is complex and multi-faceted. To tap into the power of the private sector, the Private Sector Engagement Specialist for Esho Shikhi will lead the engagement of the Activity with private sector actors. The Specialist will be expected to build relationships with private sector actors โ€“ including national and international business and corporate companies to leverage the activities and the impact for marginalized Bangladesh Children. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:The Private Sector Engagement Specialist will be responsible for providing directions and guidance, and oversight on private sector engagement across USAIDโ€™s Esho Shikhi Activity. Working in close collaboration with the Chief of Party (COP) and Deputy COP, the Private Sector Engagement Specialist will also design and lead implementation of private sector activities in alignment with the programโ€™s activities and policy intervention in support of private sector engagement. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:โ€ข Map out the potential business and corporate entities in Bangladesh who has already invested andhave the willingness to invest in the future for marginalized Bangladeshi childrenโ€™s education.โ€ข Liaise promising investors to design a plan for private sector engagement, negotiate contributions and leverage compatible initiatives for greater Activity impact.โ€ข Develop and establish strong working relationships with private sector entities/partners. The position may also be expected to cultivate and strengthen relationships with other key stakeholders, including with civil society and government partners. โ€ข Provide programmatic coordination and technical support for all private sector engagement activities ensuring quality, timeliness, and integration with Activity components.โ€ข Develop a strategy that provides a clear direction for Esho Shikhi Activity targets, plan of action, short term, and long-term outcomes for the whole Activity period. This strategy should identify specific audiences, the rationale, messages, timeline, methods and expected outcome.โ€ข Based on Esho Shikhi focus area and on national priorities, create innovative and appropriate packages to effectively reach target business entities. โ€ข Lead the plan, implementation, monitoring, and reporting on all private sector engagement activities on a timely basis.โ€ข Other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS: Education:Masterโ€™s degree or higher communications, marketing, international development or related field or equivalent discipline Work Experience:โ€ข At least 7 years of working experience in a relevant field of leadership or strategic level โ€ข Outstanding communication, advocacy, and writing skills in English and Banglaโ€ข Outstanding knowledge of Bangladesh corporate world and their Corporate Social Responsibility(CSR). โ€ข Good understanding about the government and International Non-Governmental Organizations. โ€ข Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities under pressureโ€ข Computer proficiency in MS Office applications The deadline for submission of applications is June 17, 2022.
